The details of the Creatures Community Spirit Festival 2011 are here!

Date: November 1st to November 14th
Co-ordinator: Laura
Theme: New Faces: new users, creators starting small, and perhaps a new game to boot.

Thank you to everyone who voted in the surveys and helped spread the word around the community; the response so far has been great.

This is a momentous year! After waiting for more than a decade, our beloved Creatures series is FINALLY seeing its next incarnation in the upcoming Creatures 4! People are super-excited, old faces are showing up again who had previously left the community and new developers are appearing. It's a very fun time to be a Creatures fan, so let?s all really work together to make the CCSF 2011 extra special and a celebration to remember!

With the date and our theme decided, it?s now time to start thinking about those all-important submissions. This year we'd love it if EVERYONE contributed at least one thing to the festival and thus have their name in the event credits. While breeds, agents, COBs and metarooms have always featured greatly, for those of you who aren?t developers there are many other contributions you could make. Need some inspiration? Whether it?s a website, blog, Wolfling Run, breeding challenge, some adoptions, fan fiction, fan art, photos of the Norndoll you made the other week, or of your Creatures collection, there are plenty of ways to get involved; don?t miss your chance to join in the fun!

An e-mail account will be set up for people to send their submissions to in due course. In the meantime, please start thinking about what you?d like to submit! :)

YAY!:D
I need to finish up my Ettin breed, as soon as I get the GIMP plugin to work again, mine isn't working for some reason. :(

Awesome theme! I'm a little cautious about committing to a CCSF creation just yet... The next month or so is going to be insanely busy for me! However, I'm thinking of working on some sprite updates/fixes for the C1 Norns: There are random white pixels and other tiny issues that have always gotten to me. Ha! I might also sit down and write some fan fiction: I've had a concept for awhile. And in the absolute worst case, Discover Albia should still be very active around the CCSF: I could always create some type of new challenge to write about just for the CCSF!

I'm looking forward to seeing all of the submissions! Good luck to everyone!

I'm really looking forward to seeing all the different submissions that people come up with this year. :) It really doesn't matter how much, or how little you submit, it's the taking part that matters most. Hopefully the New Faces theme will also encourage members who have just joined us, or haven't participated before, to join in too. It's all about being part of the community and having fun!

We're also planning to have some contests (with maybe some prizes!) so that could be another way to get involved and contribute.

Congratulations, Izzy! We look forward to seeing what you've made, if you decide to submit it for the CCSF. :D

I plan to make my first agent too this year; I figured since part of the theme is 'Creators Starting Small' that it's about time I gave it a go!

I will seriously try to get something done for this CCSF. I hate not contributing almost every year I'm around for it. :[

You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there.

I will also try to do something this year! I still don't know if I have the skills for an agent, but if anything I can submit more drawings.

Very exciting!
I've already got a few tricks up my sleeve for this year, but what I'd really like to see is more new creators getting involved. That's alway so exciting!

We've got a lot of good tutorials for those who are interested in learning CAOS, and three solid months to make whatever you want. Whether you're up for trying your hand at your first agent or want to submit some of your other handywork, it would be awesome if we could all pitch in this year.

Laura has a great start on ideas for submissions, but really there's so much that you could make, that we could never hope to list it all. Do you like cross-stitching? I'd love to see someone make a Raggedy Anne Norn or an Ettin doll with little button eyes! Or maybe you like poetry? Creature limericks would be awesome!

From faux fur to macaroni noodles, any medium goes, we just hope you'll be able to share a little of your time and talent with the Community. There's a lot that we can do to get this year's festival off to a great start. The more community activity, the merrier the CCSF!

We're already off to a speedy start; to have received a few submissions already is simply amazing! Well done to everyone who's submitted so far!

I've just sent an alpha version of the scribble room to Laura just in case I die before the CCSF happens. ;)
It's far from finished though! but shaping up to look very, very nice.

Hi everyone, it's me again:

I've just finished planning the festival's two week agenda, scheduling what will be released on each day, so from now would be a good time to let me know if you will be submitting something and sending me any outstanding stuff (if you haven't already) so I can slot you in.

Thanks; the CCSF is going to be a good 'un this year! Only five days to go! I hope you're all quivering with anticipation, I am. ;)

Wow, it really crept up fast there! Seems like just last week it was July, and I was procrastinating...

I've sent Laura a few agents of my own, including one new metaroom--those of you who frequent CC Chat may have already seen some behind-the-scenes screenies, but now that it's been packaged up and sent in it's ready to see the light of day.

Laura's shared a few numbers with me and I'm excited to hear about just how much stuff has been submitted already! I don't think any of the past festivals had quite as many releases as we'll have this year. I can't wait for the CCSF to begin, as I'm sure you can't either! :D

I think I've done my job a bit too well actually... Sooooooooo many submissions to try and fit into two weeks! Knocking on 40! It's a good thing though. :D
