Hi, all! I've been thinking lately, the last few years, that I want to create some norn breeds again, but this time I want to make my own sprite base using a 3D modeling program. Are there any technical limitations anyone knows of that I should know about before I begin designing and modeling?
Back when I made breeds years before I just altered existing sprites but never got to understanding the ATT files and how those relate to sprites, so I wasn't sure if there were any requirements I should be aware of when designing? Like I really know nothing about ATT files and how they read sprites. |

Creatures uses pre-rendered sprites, so you needn't worry about policing or details regarding your model's topology. I'm not so sure about any other requirements though, perhaps try asking a breed maker like Ghodthande? |

All I know about ATT files is that they tell the head where to attach to the body, etcetera... Not quite sure how they do that, though.

I think the ATT files are essentially just a list of X/Y pixel coordinates for the invidual frames of the sprite file with the same name.
Sprites are connected by making sure the marked locations of both are laid on top of each other.

Papriko is correct. I've got a tutorial here that goes into the details on how ATT files work.
