Agent compiling/ect help for revamps!

Hello! I've been working on a revamp for Bug's temple and some related/ect agents, and I've made most of the artworks already (and even edited a plant script)

BUT, partly due to lack of experience and partly due to the softwares needed being fairly unstable due to compatibility issues, I don't have a means to recompile or build what I have back into agents.

It's not the end of the world since the .c16 files can be manually replaced in the documents/images folders, but it would be nice if the revamped artwork could actually be placed back into the agents! Also that way I could properly release a bundle when I'm done.

Is there anyone who would simply be willing to, if I supplied the c.16s/.blks ect, just recompile them back into their respective agents?

On a second note there's a couple of things that are beyond my skill level:

-I'd like to make a simple agent that plays a music loop when pressed and turns off when pressed again.

- A unique fish injector agent would also be cool, I could graphically alter an existing one and call it good, but I really can't find any vendors AT ALL that just produce fish.

(although there's admittedly the bone fish agent but a. they don't have movement animations and b. their coding means they can very easily either swim up OUT of the water to their death or beach themselves on land so I'd rather not use them.)

-changing an agent that destroys after dispensing into one that can dispense indefinitely

anyway sorry for rambling on!

Have you tried the Zander Fish or the Biodome Object Pack? They have vendors that produce fish. :)

Oh! the biome pack might be useful! The zander fish dispenser agent is dependent on zander mites and they can't reproduce, so I don't think I'll use those c'x

The only issue with the object pack is it's an .agents, so even if I edit the graphics, I don't have the means to make a single fish dispensing agent out of it at the end, it would still be a bundle!

(This is actually why I haven't been able to just mod the portal radio to make a new music player</3 )

it's a great start though, thank you<3

Have you tried using Jagent to decompile your agents? It's really easy to use, just drag and drop, really. I have written a longer tutorial on how to decompile agents with it if that helps.

Oh I haven't! I'd never actually seen jagent before, but that's a great thing to know about, maybe it will even solve some of my problems.

Needless to say I've had some frustrating adventures in old software that simply didn't take well to being coaxed into working. Revelation for instance seems to prefer crashing to decompling, and easyPRAY doesn't recognise anything I've tried to feed into it, even when I've done something simple like decompiling an existing official agent just to see if easyPRAY could put it back together again as a proof of concept. I'll try jagent out!

I'd like to make a simple agent that plays a music loop when pressed and turns off when pressed again.

This is a lot easier than you're probably thinking--in fact this is the kind of thing that makes a perfect beginner's agent. You can use SNDL to start a looping sound [SNDL "soundfilename"], and the line "STPC" when you want to stop it. If you use a variable to keep track of whether the agent is currently playing a sound or not, you can easily tell the agent to do the right action when it's clicked on.
