Crossposting from Creaturetopia...
I've completed the map for my new Creatures 2 world, Ainarda! It's taken an incredible amount of time and energy and effort but I now have the sprites for an entirely new world. Ainarda is created! Now what I need is someone to code it. This is a call to all coders in the community!
I need someone who has excellent skills in coding, previous experience preferred, who will be able to take the map I've created and make it into a functional environment for creatures (music files, cobs, room information, world setup, scripts, and so on). Since I have no knowledge of coding myself I need someone who will be able to hear my ideas and put them into action. Someone who is willing to work with me and offer me their expertise on the technical side of this project.
I'm very proud of the work I've done and I'm very eager to see Ainarda released. If you're interested, please leave your contact and background information here. Thank you so much!
I'd just like to update this post by saying that I've completed the room information and now all I need is a cobbler. Yay! Please contact me if you're interested in joining Team Ainarda!

I saw the image on CTopia and I must say the room looks absolutely stunning!
I wish I had the time to help, but with work and the Community Scribble I'm rated swamped. Been years since I cobbled for C2, too...
If I ever get more time, and the community Scribble is done, I'll do my best to lend you a fin.
Keep looking for a cobbler though, and you should also learn the basics of CAOS yourself so you can understand the needs of the coders better. I remember trying to work with some amazing artists that didn't get how CAOS worked and thus made beautiful but useless artwork for agents.

Aw, that alone is very encouraging, AS. Thank you! And yes, I completely understand that it can be a bit time consuming to make these things. Everything for the world is already finished and the cob's are the last, though probably most complex part after making the background world graphic, so hopefully I can find someone ready to take it on. I've been honing up on CAOS myself but a lot of links are dead and it can be a pain just trying to figure out for which game a tutorial was written.
Anywho, thank you so much! Definitely hit me up any time in the future if you're still interested!

C2 definitely lacks tutorials. The only tutorials I ever found/used where those from Helen's Bibble Directory, and I only got as far as the toy boat. From then on I began experimenting on my own and before I knew it I had made norns that could walk on water. (These later became the swimming mernorns)
The best way to learn CAOS is not by starting a big project and then trying to learn it. The best way is to just play around with it. Make a chunk of cheese that flies, clones itself, follows norns around, whatever. The more you play, the more you learn until you can tackle your big project.
If you have any questions about CAOS I'm always happy to help and point you in the right direction.

I would love to help with maybe just one or two COBs, but it would hurt my schoolwork to devote much more time than that. It's great to see someone making a new C2 world, C2 has my absolute favorite norns! Sad to see people at Creaturetopia agreeing that it is less popular.
So, how did it go putting together the room data yourself? I tried messing with room data a bit ago and it seems simple enough, but then the moment a creature crosses the world seam bam! the game crashes dead. Have you put any norns or objects into Ainarda to see if it is functioning properly?? |

It went amazingly well! I had so much fun making the world and the background art and then piecing it all together in the room editor. At the moment Ainarda is ready to go except the cobs. I've actually been playing it for a while now. The only main problem is that there are no lifts so I have to use teleportation cobs, which is fine, but it doesn't allow for the norns to roam freely.
Still, it's SUCH a beautiful world and I love the colors and the richness of it. It's not perfection by any means, but I'm really proud of it. When someone comes along who knows a lot about caos and cobbling I'll dive back into the project as that's all there is left. So hopefully someday soon the world can be officially released! Yay!
