If you've played C3/DS after playing Creatures 1 or 2, then you'll probably see a flaw in the gaming mechanics - the Norns are too easy to look after!
I've currently had plans to modify the genetics of all the official Norn breeds. However, I need a bit of assistance as to which genes I need to remove (mainly instinct genes), so the Norns will actually require some form of care. I've also appropriately decided to name them 'Tricky Norns'. I will also be editing the CFE versions of the genetic files, if Vampess gives me permission.
What do you think? Is this a good idea? I guess I could submit it as a sort of late CCSF submission. |

Good luck with this. I am actually trying to do this myself and I can safely say that it is going to take more than simply removing instinct genes. |

Sounds interesting! I'd love to see how they turn out.

I would be very interested in seeing how these turn out.
You may be interested in the Gizmo Norns - Darcie muted their boredom instincts and gave them a bunch more stimulation genes so that norns would be more inclined to try things out when they're bored. Her tip is to turn off the instinct gene rather than remove it to prevent crossbreed issues. They have a lot of good ideas in their genome to make raising norns harder.
I believe Amaikokonut also posted some work into this issue.
Hope these help
