Genome crossing in egg agent | |

I am using the variables "Mother Gene File" and "Father Gene File" to try and cross genomes in an egg agent, so that a hybrid will hatch each time. However, Muco only uses the mother gene file (not the default one - I can leave that out and it goes straight to mother without errors.) It happens with different mother and father gene files. It also happens when using the C3 norn terrarium egg layer in DS. Can anyone help me? |

In the past, I've had about as much luck as you when trying to get Muco to gene-cross two individual genomes. So there I can't help you much.
However, I can explain why it doesn't work with the C3 Egg Layer - it was never built with that function in mind. As such, it uses whatever your default genome file was and pays no attention to the mother/father genes.

Yep, thats right.
But crossing genes is an easy thing. You can generate your own eggs and creatures:* Mommy's genetics
gene load ownr 2 "*"
* Daddy's genetics
gene load ownr 3 "*"
* let them do love!
gene cros ownr 1 ownr 2 ownr 3 128 128 128 128
* mommy and daddy are useless now
* time to remove them!
gene kill ownr 2
gene kill ownr 3 |
Now does OWNR have a crossover of 2 completely random genomes in slot 1. Simply GENE MOVE this into an empty egg or make a creature of it.
Eggs self are just NEW: SIMP agents. Give them a classifier of 3 4 1(/2/3), a tick you want and put the genetics into slot 1.
