To make one, I mean? After the back drop and sprites are all done? Nevermind the agents that go with it. How long does it take to turn a backdrop into a room?
Don't forget. Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember her, you are not alone. |

I imagine it becomes easier as you get more experienced. The tutorial Creating A Metaroom gives a step-by-step breakdown of what's needed.

It does become easier with experience, although a lot of it depends on how detailed the metaroom is.
In terms of sheer room-building chronology, if you're making a room that's really simple (like the Crypt) it only takes a couple minutes, whereas if you're making a large room (like the Norn Terrarium) it's going to take a few hours because there's a lot of space to define, all kinds of odd contours to work around, and of course many different surfaces to assign room types to.
A room like the Crypt takes about a minute to fashion, if you're already familiar with how the program works and don't need to spend time familiarizing yourself with it. A medium-sized room like Tulu takes about an hour. KT took maybe three or four hours altogether. The Norn Terrarium probably took significantly longer due to its complexity.
