Hello Creatures Community!
Late last year I began work on my own Creatures 2 to Docking Station project. Developing it has been quite an adventure so far, and I'd like to share that journey with the community by providing an inside look at how Albia is forming inside Docking Station.

Oh Moe, this blog of yours is just so tantalisingly teasing! Out of all of them C2 is the Creatures game I love the most, so the idea of C2toDS just rings of epically awesome. |

If you know of any Creatures players who have left the community for a time, consider letting them know about C2toDS!
My hopes is that this project, along with other smaller things I, and other members are working on, will generate more activity in the community, and interest in the games. |

One good way of getting people to look is to post agents altered so they come in existing rooms that when done will show up in your new room like with the canopy bluebottles. Just my five-cents. |

Technically Scoota, the volcano already erupted... It'll be another hundred years at least before that happens again. There is something you can do to the volcano though...C2 players might remember it as a favorite Cob, but this time the feature is built in and improved.
I'm having too much fun... lol |

I'm having too much fun watching that Dust Devil of yours! I love the way you've made it move, and I've always found those cactus seeds annoying - good riddance. |

What an amazing project, Moe! I, too, was captivated by the video of the dust devil, which looks absolutely stunning! Very interesting posts so far: I like how you've taken some advanced features/aspects of the games and made them easy to understand. I never thought about the gravity and water effects before. I'm very interested to see more updates on what you're doing: Excellent work!

I can help test it when its finished. I have a lot of free time and can come up with almost any scenario to put norns in to test it.
In my nerd cave, nobody can hear you scream.

Glad you like it, and yes it's the same one that was used in the C1 Christmas pack, but actually that snow was in the sprite from C2, just unused. :/
Instead they used those questionable block sprites...I don't use those except for rain.
And I'll be releasing little trailers like that and my dust-devil one from time to time. Later in development I'll show actual places and such, but for the time being it's all just "hey look at this or that". |

I've just beta-tested and C2toDs base and... Wow.
As Moe said, it'll freeze for a moment when you click on it in the agents list, and then again when you click to inject it (and for me it froze a third time just after it injected) but then after that it's fine! The world-scrolling function is there, the sounds are there (plus some special ones that Moe's added ) the beautiful signature C2 graphics - it's all great!
I shall have fun filling this world up with Norns, toys and plants, and playing with the Dust Devils! I really reccomend the rest of you try it out too, if you haven't already, especially if you're a C2 sentimentalist like me. |

I have to say that this is wickedly awesome. The fact that the hand and everything associated with it goes *spoiler* was a very nice touch, it's nice to see a version of this room with all the scenery in place, and you get kudos for putting the music in and being accurate down to the speed of the animations.
One thing I've noticed, however, is that the clouds are fond of dipping low. I've seen one that actually slipped below the bridge. But eh, minor concern.

As for the clouds... lol, I prefer them dropping down into the waterfall canyon, actually. I could have hard-coded them not to drop below a certain point, but I wanted them free and versatile, just as a cloud, and weather system, should be.
So if you see the clouds wandering through the dungeon below the Norn burrow, or down in the swamps, just pretend it's fog. lol (And for that matter, low lying clouds will roll in off the coast in the night through morning.) Besides, Norns are encouraged to "push weather". |

Hi! I'm new to the forum. Just wanted to compliment you on the good job with the sprites on c22DS. I'm getting an error when I try to access my world that has c22DS in use on it. The error looks like this:

I'm afraid I have no idea how to help you. That's an engine memory error, not a sprite or CAOS error.
C2toDS may not even have anything to do with it, sorry. Hope someone else is more helpful. |

looks like a memory issue to me, but I'm no expert.
maybe try closing unneeded programs(eg. anything that isn't a virus scan) or restarting. and see if it happens again. |

This makes sense, I did put quite a few creatures in the world and used a few new breeds that I just downloaded, so any number of errors could have happened.
I think I'll experiment with C22DS some more with a few other worlds. I've been trying it on DS only without docking it with C3. I'm anxious to see how C22DS will turn out once your next developments are finished. It really is beautiful.

I tried to inject C2toDS Base in my Docking Station, but when I try to inject it, the injector says that the injection fails with the following lines :
