I was wondering, do you lads and ladies prefer injected agents to appear in front of the Creator, or would it be more fun if they appeared in your inventory instead?
Currently the blackbird and BSTL machine appear in the inventory, which slides out to show the newly added. Personally I like this, since I can just press the inject button and move on to do other stuff while I wait for the object to appear.
So do you think I should keep making my agents this way, or do you think it would only be good for some agents, but not all?

Personally, I quite like the idea of some agents appearing in the inventory - I find its handy to have some agents in there for easy access "on the go" So yeah, if you want my opinion, I think that continuing to have certain agents appear in the inventory would be good. |

It depends on the agent. "Unimportant" or "normal" stuff like toys may appear in front of the creator, but what about important or hazard stuff?
What about a gadget which kills all creatures around it and splices them together? Then an Ettin takes it to your main population, pushes it and... WHAM!
Only an example, I think you know what I mean.

I can't think of any reason why it would be inconvenient to inject an agent in the inventory.
Like Papriko said, it's good for gadgets or tools to appear in the inventory so they can't be stolen/tampered with. It's also extremely useful for critters or other moving things because you don't have to go chasing after them to be able to put them where you want--even if it's something tiny, like a bug, just CTRL-arrow key and it's right in your hand.

I've always liked agents that appear where they're going to be used - e.g. plants actually in a place where they're going to grow. Having something appear in the inventory rather than in front of the injector machine is something of a logical extension to that.
P.S. Does anyone keep their inventories really really super-full?

Yeah, I think I'm going to stick with the inventory system as much as possible. I really enjoy it when testing new agents since that involves a lot of re-injecting.

actually a send to inventory button for the entire creator room(s) would be very very nice |

I could make an agent that kinda sorta does that, but it'd be tricky. And would not work on all agents.
Something that picks up any agents it touches and dumps it into your inventory.

Just a question about the creator injection code:
enum 1 2 11
spas targ va00
doif ov00 = 0 and clac = 0
mesg writ targ 0

Is there any reason to suspect that this is DS-specific?

To me it seems just okay to be used in C3, too. In the worst case you directly start up C3 and don't go the path over DS, then you can test.

It's not DS-specific, unless the C3 inventory has a different classifier, which I doubt.
