Haven't tried entering the world (didn't set up the offline button yet), but it seems to work fine. Just need to set a compatibility setting. Windows 8 64-bit does support 16-bit color compatibility mode, but doesn't support 16-bit execution, which may have been a point of confusion. Also, I would not recommend switching from full-screen to windowed, the colors go weird. But starting in windowed, or going from windowed to full-screen works just fine. When you say the colors go weird, do you mean purple and green? It sounds like Windows might be resetting into 32-bit color. Anyway, good to know that it works. |
