Has anyone noticed any particularly good looking crossbreeds in their world? Breeds that just seem to fit together when they're crossbred. I like magmas and bengals;  and astros and aquanorns.   I've been working on a mer-gargoyle, but haven't quite got there yet. Does anyone have any breeds that they like to put together? My TCR Norns |

I've always liked Toxic/Banshee Grendel crosses. The Norn and Grendel parts seem to mesh seamlessly with each other. Case in point:  Risen Angel's Creatures Blog |

Dream x Apple crosses look quite nice, too. Treehugger x Beowulf is another pretty cross, pretty difficult to obtain naturally though! One of my favorite pet Norns, Cowpatch, is a Civet Norn with a Bruin body. I don't have any regular photos of him but I have about 700 other pictures of him, since he was the Norn that participated in the pose index project. Another cross I like is to take one of those C2 Emerald Norns and give them Boney Grendel limbs. They look especially funny as babies. Like young foals... except, you know, with huge claws and skeletal shins. Harlequin x Fallow (female) and Harlequin x Crimson (male) crosses look nice too. I haven't found a breed yet that crosses well with both genders.  |

Lol, the only boney and emerald crossbreed I can find looks .. rather different...  This looks decent, as well:  Hehe, boney grendel legs look like stilts:  Actually, a bit of siamese looks good with a female fallow/harlequin cross:  My TCR Norns |

* Desert Ettin and Jungle/Banshee Grendel (not color-coordinating, but adorable) * Any combination of Dream, Flora, Chichi, Astro * Siamese and Zebra * Hardman and Bengal * Astro and Bondi * Bulbous and Jungle Grendel (doesn't seem to have many floating head problems either) Different male and female sprite colors/patterns can make some crossbreeds look good on the males, but not females, and vice versa. For example a female astro/chichi has more nicely blending colors than a male one. What might look good, but I've never tried, is sea ettin and bondi. Edit: And I forgot, Magma-Bondi crosses have really nice color contrast. Plus lots of gender confusion!  Super Edit: 40 seems like a fun pose to put dead norns in XD |

I don't remember what made me think of this one, but when I was playing with one of those online genetic breed makers I decided to create a Bondi-based norn with the head and tail of a Butterfly norn, as well as some pretty blue coloring thrown in. This was the result:  I'm also a huge fan of Fox/WhiteHairedPixie norns with PMN arms and legs. I always thought those were adorable crosses. You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there. -- Jim Adkins |

D'awwww! I don't know if it's just because of where she's crawling, but she looks like she has a tiny fang. Coupled with the expression and the gargoyle wings, it kind of makes her look like a little vampire norn. You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. Dale Norn! That's what I was trying to think of. I'm pretty sure it has to be a Dale Norn--the pigment changes that would be needed to get a blue Bengal would make the Dream Norn parts orange. That Butterfly-Bondi cross is also gorgeous. I love seeing really good pigment manipulations. |

IMO pigmented norns that are part Magma and/or Bondi make some of the prettiest creatures because of their fur patterns. You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. Yeah, I've been linking all of the ones I've shown here - I like being able to play with cute norns, as well as ooh and aah over them. Got this female sabertooth/draconian/zebra/gargoyle recently through the warp, I think she's rather striking, even if she did blink in the photo.  My TCR Norns |
