Help with Inkscape?

Sorry if I got the wrong forum to post this in, but it seemed like the best fit for my purposes.

Anywho, I was using Inkscape to make a coloring page for CCSF because that's about all I can contribute at this time. I'm having an issue with exporting: Each time I do, the lines come out pixelated. I tried making the image larger with the idea of just resizing it using a site I've used before to resize things. The site doesn't like resizing things now.

I'm quite stuck now. If anyone has any ideas as to what I could do to make the image come out better, please tell me. I'd like to send the coloring page in before CCSF starts.

This is the right place to ask - I'm glad to hear you're working on something for CCSF.
Just a few questions to work out what's going on:
What file format have you been working in?
Is it a vector, or a raster?
What are you trying to export it as?
What's the DPI?
Which OS are you running?

I think that the problem may be related to this question.

Glad I got the right section of the forum.

Inkscape is uses vector. I've been trying to turn it into a rastor type of file. I figured more people would be able to use a rastor type of picture instead of a vector one.

I'm not sure what DPI stands for, or where exactly to look for that information. And I use Windows 7.

DPI stands for dots per inch, and is a way of measuring pixel density or resolution. The usual default for printing is 300 dpi.

There are a few Inkscape-specific tips here, including from as recently as August.

One of the suggestions on the topic you linked suggested changing the DPI to 300, which seemed easy enough, so that's what I did. The image is now 2352 pixels by 2966 pixels. Is that too big? I was trying to keep it a decent size so people didn't have to resize it themselves or anything if they wanted to print it.

Can you do a print preview and see if it comes out on one page or more?

Oh right! Didn't think of that. It looks like it might be stretched a little in the middle, but it's not too bad, and it fits on one page. The Image looks giant in Microsoft Paint, so I hope folks don't get too frustrated with that.

Thank you Malkin for the help.
