How to play an installed C3/DS?

I recently started playing C3 on my new laptop.
I have been able to play it from the disc using autorun.exe and I got tired of having to have the disc in and tried to install it.
After installing it I tried running the engine.exe and I got the following error:

NLE0007: You must specify a game name in the command line.
For example, Creatures 3 or Creatures Adventures

For soak tests, specify --autokill before the game name
to kill agents which generate run time errors.

Ive seen people saying that you are supposed to use a shortcut but I cant find any

I would rather not be stuck with the disc in my drive for the rest of eternity, does anyone know a solution?

Which OS are you running? Where did you get the disc from?

I am running windows 10.
The game was a gift from my father who bought it day 1.
I have installed it on many computers in the past but this is the first time I have ever had an issue with it.

I just realised I can run DS by using the engine.exe.
I would still like to find whats wrong with the C3 but at least if I find a way to bypass the login page I can play the game.

Just a heads up, Aliena - that's the old wiki website, which isn't updated any more. The new site is at https://creatures.wiki, not creatures.wikia.com.

WitlessVagabond, what you need to get through the login screen is something like the login disabler on this page, as Aliena said.

C12DS also has a login disabler!
It's the one I use.
