Downloading Farbe Genome, need help.

As the title says, I want to download the Farbe Genome that's listed in the breed download section.

Problem is, there's no readme file to tell me where to put what. There's two folders (Egg Agents and Genetics), but I don't know what I should do with the items in the genetics folder? Do I need to put it in with the egg agents I choose to put in my agents folder? Do I need to put them in at all if I put the egg agents in? Do I need to put them in another folder?

I just want me some neat looking color mutations whenever they happen!

The .gen files go into your "Genetics" folder in your main Creatures 3 or Docking Station directory.

While I'm not entirely sure if you need them to use the egg agents or not, it won't hurt anything if you install both the genomes and the egg agents.

Thank you very much, Grendel Man!

Edit: There seem to be .gno files as well. What do I do with those? Never mind they go in the same place derp.

Those go in the same place as the .gen files.

If you're wondering what those are, those are caption files. If you load a genome with a .gno file in the Genetics Kit (or some other gene editor), you'll get descriptions for the genes, while loading a genome without one will just give you "<no caption>" for every gene.

They're not really necessary for using .gen files, but they're nice for developers.

Yeah, I have to say, working on an uncommented gene file is a pain in the butt. The .gno helps a LOT.

I made a list of file types in the Creatures series a while back - it might be helpful to look at if you don't know what goes where.

On a similar note, I am working on egg agents for the Ettin and Grendel versions of the genome, and Andrettin has recently given me permission to share these once they're complete. This shouldn't take me massively long, so soon there'll be an easy way to get Farbe Ettins and Grendels into the world too! :D
