Let me guess - you have the use-DS-offline patch installed, and you tried to make an undocked world. Is this correct? If so, happens to me every time and I don't know a way around it. On the plus side, docked worlds work fine, so just go docked every time. Messes up the IQ test, but I don't know of any other real reason to go undocked, so it's not that big a deal.

Believe it or not. Your guess was wrong. I'm attempting to have a docked world. Plus I have yet to download the patch. I actually might reset my computer. My computer doesn't have 16-bit color, though I just set it to reduced color mode. Ugh Ds!!!!!
The color mode thing might be the issue then. It looks remarkably similar to the kind of fit my computer throws when I try to run an undocked world on that patch, which is why I suggested it as a possibility, but if you're not using the patch then I'm not sure what to suggest. Unfortunately your image isn't clear enough (at least not on my monitor) for me to read the error messages and I'd need to do that to give any clearer advice. Can you possibly use Print Screen and Paint to get a screenshot rather than taking a photo of the screen?
Also, FWIW, I'm not nor have I ever used C1toDS. No idea why it flakes out on me so badly! :p

For one thing, you don't want it running in 8-bit color mode (as you do in that photo) - do you see that arrow next to the '8-bit (256) color' box in the compatibility tab? If you click it, you should be able to scroll down and select 16-bit color mode, which is what DS is meant to run in. You also shouldn't have to run it at 640 x 480 resolution - that was pretty small even when the program came out! So I would recommend unchecking that box.
Are you sure that windows 8 is such a good choice for the compability thing? I thought DS even makes problems on regular win 8, or does the GoG version fix this? If you have that I mean.
Also, for taking screenshots, I would recommend hitting the Print Screen button, open paint or another graphics program and then hit Ctrl + V. That way you can make a direct screenshot instead of this camera-towards-screen business.

I'm running the GoG.com versions on Windows 7 and for the most part they work fine. I've been told by others they mostly work fine on Windows 10. So I don't see why Windows 8 would struggle with it particularly, but then again, who knows.

Hey all, got it fixed. Mostly that pic was because I'd been fiddling with settings. I fixed the color, it was mainly cause I'm on a computer that has no 16-bit setting. Then Lurhstaap, it works awesome on windows 8!
