Many years ago when I tried DS, I remember that there was a fast forward function--or something similar to the sort. Now that I have the game again, however, I can't actually find it.
There's something called Fast Ticks, but whenever I activate it, the game's visuals freeze and time just continues as normal. (as when I unpause it, not much seems to have changed. And the sound effects continue at a normal pace, it seems.) Not sure if this is actually what I'm looking for, or if I'm overlooking something...
If this IS what I'm looking for, why isn't it working properly? I seem to specifically remember being able to see the game in fast motion... |

I believe that it is theoretically possible to let the game run in fast forward and keep the visuals, but you would need to script that. The default is that the visuals freeze to save CPU power. They only update when an ingame time of 1 minute has passed. So if your game runs on triple speed for example, you get 1 frame every 20 real seconds.
Not much to be done about the sound. Go to an unpopulated room or mute the game.
You activate it by opening the Wolf Control with Ctrl + Shift + W and then use Ctrl + Shift + F to toggle fast forward. The tick speed tells you how fast the game goes. Normal speed is 20 if I recall right. Let it run for a few minutes, it usually needs 2-3 screen updates to get to full speed.
Ideally you should grab this download if you have a somewhat modern PC.
