So, KittyTikara and a few others were very helpful here.
But I still feel a little lost with this thing. For instance, do I have to make this change to all of the norn breeds and then copy over the current? I really have no idea what I'm doing (as usual). |

Yes each breed has their own genetic file, so if you want to add this change to all of your genomes permanently you will have to make that edit for each in turn.
Alternately you can make the change, then hatch a couple of eggs but don't save, or save as a new file if you want to leave the original genomes as they are. The last page in the kit will let you export an egg by selecting a sex and clicking the "lay egg" button. A message will pop up but don't worry about it, the egg will be placed near the incubator pan so unless an egg doesn't appear it isn't an error.
