Protective Tub norns not recognising

I installed protective tub and it works for the most part, the norns are named as soon as they hatch. However for some reason my norns aren't recognizing their own names. They call themselves and each other "eem" their whole lives. Is this a glitch and how do I fix it if it is? Or does the protective tub agent do this on purpose for some reason?

It has more to do with when they learn their vocabulary. Are they using the Holistic Learning Machine a lot?

They did use the holistic learning machine in the Norn Meso just after hatching. I know it may take a while for them to catch on to what their names are anyway so I waited. When they were all adults they still said eem.

If creatures learn their vocabulary around the same time as being named, they tend to call themselves "me" forever. I don't know about "eem" though.

Eek, I had no idea! My current creatures that weren't name by Protective Tub have been saying "me" the whole time and I had no idea it was because they learned their vocab right after hatching, too. Geeze, I guess I should wait until a later life stage to teach them then, but what stage. Maybe I'll have to experiment and see.

You probably only need to wait a few minutes if that.

To me it seems like the time it takes to learn their names varies, they just learn it after calling themselves eem/me/etc a few times (without learning vocabulary), so if the norn is very talkative then they learn it faster, but if they hardly ever talk (or only say things that don't have their name in it) then it seems to take longer. But even the quiet norns will probably learn it by adolescent stage.

Another thing you can try is naming the Norn something else, then putting the original name back. Like if you get a Norn named "Ghastly Tomatoes", try naming it "Bob", wait for a minute or so, then name it "Ghastly Tomatoes" again. This seems to force it to learn the proper name, but it's a lot of effort, so only something you'd want to do if you really liked a particular name.
