Laura suggested that I could try asking over here,so here goes nothing: Downloaded Amaikokonut's awesome DS splicer, and in order to make it run you need Creatures 3 installed (or ,in my case , *I Hope* that copy over the reuired images&sounds from C3 over to DS will make it work. I managed to get DS installed and running on this computer I am on now (mom's Win8 laptop) and since it do not have a CD-tray,I can't install C3,however, My sister's win7 laptop do have creatures 3. Im pretty sure that once I have all images and sound copies from our Creatures 3 game to my vanilla DS,I might be able to still inject it. I allready tried to ask her send some of the files over to me,wich I suspected is tied to the C3 Gene Splicer,needed for the DS Splicer to work: Images: gene pod.c16 genesplicer overlay.c16 Gene Splicer panel.c16 Sounds: bp_1 bp_2 (?) gs_0 gs_c gsb1 poyy Everytime I try inject it, It still tells me "A dependency is missing,unable to inject this agent. Please contact the author. " So yeah,I must be missing some files.. Anyone willing to point out wich? Many Thanks in advance!! |

I know it's been nearly a week, but have you considered making an image file of your Creatures 3 CD, putting it onto a USB drive and installing it on your laptop? There is obviously something missing but of course the game isn't telling you what it is. If the above isn't possible, have you tried opening the agent file up in notepad and seeing what dependencies are listed? |

It's fine,as long as someone is willing to help,I appreciate it a lot! No sorry,I would have done so allready with C3 : ( (also it's not mine,it's my mom's,but she is also kinda tired on it - being a win8 and all,Im just happy I could run DS at all,knowing this nightmare of a laptop is in general..) I did talk to Papriko about it,and he informed me about Jagent, I gave it a try and this is the files it list what it need: "Dependency 1" "blnk.c16" "Dependency 2" "useful_screen.c16" "Dependency 3" "pick-ups.c16" "Dependency 4" "teleport.c16" "Dependency 5" "spliceds.c16" "Dependency 6" "ds welcome screen.c16" "Dependency 7" "agent_help.c16" "Dependency 8" "spliceds.catalogue" "Dependency 9" "but1.wav" "Dependency 10" "buzz.wav" "Dependency 11" "alar.wav" "Dependency 12" "spry.wav" "Dependency 13" "2bep.wav" "Dependency 14" "lg_1.wav" "Dependency 15" "tele.wav" "Dependency 16" "cmc3.wav ************************** Now,the thing is,I let my sister give the c3 related files described there,and I put them in my DS in theyre folders - still nothing works... I been thinking at first if simulating C3 by making a new folder renaming it to Creatures3 and make sound,image&catalouge folders as well,putting them there - but I do not think it is that easy either...as I belive DS have to be merged I suppose the DS splicer really do not work truly as a standalone,even if required the right sprites and sounds in place (along with that catalouge file too,of course)-_- Do tell me if Im wrong and if there is a solution to it,I would be glad to hear it thought.. |
