So, I was just doing a C2 wolfling run. Nothing out of the ordinary, but the game would throw errors about file sharing every once in a while that didn't seem to have much effect. I closed the world, and now whenever I try to open it, it says "unexpected file format." I can't play the world. is there any way to try to save my Norns? |

Try the world file in the 'backup' folder (copy it over) and if that doesn't work, send the world file to me and I'll give you a list of the monikers of all currently living creatures. You'll need to use the Genetics Kit or another way to spawn eggs from them. |

I had a problem like this with C2, though I wasn't able to fix it. For future games I've been getting into the habit of manually making a backup world file by copying World.sfc into another folder and renaming it, so there's something to fall back on if it happens again. It's not an ideal fix, but seems to be a decent makeshift solution in the absence of a better one. You might want to consider that if you can't find out what's causing this, since it sucks to go and start a new game not knowing if this will happen all over again! |
