(Note that IQ means Important Question.)
People, I got to ask you something: Did you purchased any of 4 breeds before the store was closed?
If you have it, ask me via pm if you want to send the 4 breed packs via email
That way, I will upload the lost official breed packs on creature caves.
(Note: I'm new at the fourms, the post is a question, not a spam. Please do not report.) |

First off, welcome to the forums, dewy60!
In order for us to respect Gameware's wishes, we cannot condone public offers to share the Mall-Only breeds, or allow them to be posted here for download. However, Gameware have said that discussions about the sharing the Mall-Only breeds can take place privately, either by via private message, or by e-mail. They just cannot be posted online in any form.
It was kind of you to offer though, so thank you! This is just how things have to be at the moment. Hopefully this topic will give you some more information too:

There's a contact page for Gameware Europe here, but be advised that others have tried contacting them about the mall-only breeds already. We can't guarantee that you'll get a response, however you can certainly try! Let us know how you get on. |

Update: Good news, I have got a message from C-Rex.
He said that he has hosted the mall breeds on a blogger site.
PM Me if you want to download the breeds
I like to thank C-Rex for the mall breeds he found. |

Sorry, but I've removed the link. What C-Rex does with his own website is up to him, but I'm afraid as a website we cannot support anything that goes against Gameware's wishes regarding the mall-only breeds. It is currently illegal to post them for public download, however, as Gameware has stated, they may be shared privately.
If C-Rex, or anyone else, wishes to share these downloads with others, then they know they can do so via private message or e-mail. |

dewy60, please don't openly offer to share the breeds, even via PM. Gameware have stated this is not allowed, and until we here otherwise from them, we will not permit users to do so. If you come across a user who happens to need the breeds, you can always PM them. Just make sure to keep the conversation 100% private. |

Technically it is 5 breeds, actually. Most people forget the banshee grendels.

I think Gameware made it clear that they don't want public sharing of these files.
Plenty of people here would happily share them, but its something of an unwritten rule that you don't ask or offer out loud.

What the others said.
If you want this site to remain open, then please drop it. Gameware legally own the breeds and have said to other people that they would prefer them not to be uploaded and shared publicly, surely that's enough reason to leave it. If Gameware change their minds, I'm sure that CC would be the first place to know, given that it's the largest, busiest site in the community.
If C-Rex wants to risk them suing or shutting his site down, he's welcome to do so, but I imagine that Rascii and the other members of Creatures Caves would rather that this site remains right where it is.
Please respect their wishes.

I do indeed host the breeds on a hidden page on my blog, away from the public. If, however, I am contacted by Gameware I will happily remove it. |

Thanks. |

I guess you should have been a little more elaborate. Explain how there hasn't been much creatures-related from Gameware in ages, yet we are still active, around and into the games, how those breeds are pretty nice and people would like to get them, even if that means purchasing them, yet there is no such possibility, how creaturescaves.com is currently the main community hub... All that kinda stuff. Point out the general situation in detail and why it'd be nice to give this permission.
I highly doubt this two-liner of you will convince them. Right now it looks more like a young kid walking up to Blizzard and be like "Hey guys, can I sell WoW to my friends for you? Thanks!"
Also, now it is too late. If you send yet another mail in such short time, it'd look stupid.

It doesn't seem courteous to keep sending message, after message, after message either. That'll only come across as pestering, which won't make Gameware want to grant their permission any more than they already want to. You may find it actually has the opposite effect.
If you don't get a reply, then you should probably accept that you can't and just leave it at that. Gameware still legally owns those breeds, and if they don't want people to publicly redistribute them, then that's their prerogative. They've already said that we may share them among ourselves privately, which is a lot better than nothing. It was pretty generous of them to offer that compromise, if you think about it. They no longer make any money from the breeds, yet they're still allowing us to share them privately, so that we can have them for free. They could have just as easily turned around and said no because of the loss of revenue, but they didn't.
It's good that you've tried, but be careful that you don't end up becoming a nuisance. That won't get you anywhere with Gameware, honestly. |

Isn't it technically Fishing Cactus (or BigBen) who owns them now? Since they are making Creatures Online. They had to have bought the game rights in order for them to be legally allowed to even make it. So isn't it Fishing Cactus we need permission from now? |

Pretty sure Gameware licensed the IP to Fishing Cactus, but they still own it.

I looked it up and Gameware gave them the rights to distribute Creatures Online, they still hold IP, had they to sold the IP then they no longer own it, as far as I understand. |

There's a very large difference between owning the series (which Gameware does) and having a license to produce a game in a series (applicable to FC). So no, only Gameware has any right to give permission on freely distributing the premium breeds because the IP belongs to them and them only. |

It's like how the Tolkien estate owns Lord of the Ring, but they let movies be made. it doesn't mean the royalties for the books now go to the film makers. |
