Hi! (again)
So far I know the Pearlmaids gets their tail when they are adult plus the ability to swim, but the swimming tail seems to be attached to the feet body part. With the aquanorns/Reef Gliders they are born with a tail and when they reach adolescent their feet disappear and they can now swim and that's it, which neither is a problem, the problem I got is that I got a hybrid between a Reef Glider and a Pearlmaids, the hybrid got the Reef Gliders's tail and when he grew up to an adult he got the Pearlmaids tail as well, so he was swimming around with 2 tails, normally I don't mind interesting combination and this is by no means a problem/insult towards the creator (I adore the Pearlmaids) but I think it looks a bit stupid.
So my question here is, is it possible to move the tail placement to the Pearlmaid's beginner tail instead of the feet, and still have the feet disappear at the right age?
I tried looking into their genetic, but I couldn't find anything (I don't know what to look for) So that when a hybrid is born with the Pearlmaids beginner tail I know it will have the swimming tail at a later life, instead of looking at their feet and the aquanorn/gliders tail knowing it will end up with two tails.
Again I mean no offense towards the creator, I think you have done a fantastic job on them
But yeah, I hope it was easy to understand what I meant else I'll be happy to re-phrase it. Thanks for your time.
Edit: Corrected the title's spelling mistake. |

Sorry if this reply is a bit late, but if anybody else faces a similar issue, it's unfortunately not possible to rearrange body parts without severe sprite or body data issues. You can, however, open the genome file up in a genetics editor and duplicate the appearance gene for the feet, editing it so that it activates at adolescence, and changing it so it uses either the reef glider feet, or another similar breed such as the Aquanorns. Hope this helps.
Also, for future reference, I recommend against cross-breeding the Pearl Mermaids with other breeds, unless you want some odd-looking crossbreeds. |

Hello! Just saw this and thought I'd chime in.
It's been a while but I remember putting the tail in the hip sprite sheet. Everything else is just invisible thanks to pure black sprites, so everything else still technically exists, and can thus "reappear" in crossbreeding.
As with most of my breeds(few as they may be), they weren't planned with crossbreeding in mind, they were just meant to be amazing to look at; So problems are almost guarantied to happen when crossbreeding. Keep in mind they have altered sprite placement that can get messed up with crossbreeding. This sadly means crossbreeds often have a hard time walking. :/
And thanks, I'm glad you enjoy how they look!
Sorry that your crossbreed looked weird. :/

It has been a while since I tested it, but i'm pretty sure that appearance genes don't overwrite each other if one is expressed later than the other.
Anyway C-Rex, I had to accept your challenge! I made a workaround to put the tail sprites on the actual tail... they don't look as good, naturally, but they work OK (really beautiful sprites btw Spykkie).
