I keep running into errors whenever i try to use the agent. I made the sound files. Got past that but theres a bunch of errors talking about out of line sprite? I saw a few other users have the same probelm and solved it by doing something with the body data?

What agent? What sound files? What are the excact errors? Maybe copy/paste them or upload a screenshot.
Frankly said, you should give more detail if you want help...

The creatures 3 professions agent, is one that takes outfits form creatures village and turns them into outfits for your norns and ettins. Despite the fact that it injects into the norn terrarium, you must use docking station, with a docked world. The agent is known to be very buggy, with things like the sound files. This error is no problem for people who already have creatures village because they can simply copy and paste them. But for people who don't will have to do some extra work. people will also run into errors with the body data and the sprites.
here they are:

Aaaahhh, that's it. The sprite files contain too few sprites. Not sure yet how to fix it. Where did you get that agent, though?

Papriko, it's in the downloads section here. You should be able to search it. I think it was made by Andrettin?

I remember that one.
Just to be on the safe side lolitiabear, you don't also have the MJOLNIR helmet I made, do you? The two agents are currently incompatible.

i don't think i do Ghosthande, what is it exactly? Also, how do you fix all the missing sprites?

If you don't know what the Mjolnir helmet is, you probably haven't downloaded it, so no worries.
What is in your Docking Station/Overlay Data folder? Clothing sprites need to go in there, not in the Images folder like regular sprites.
A technical explanation you probably don't want to read:
"Tried to get out of range sprites" doesn't mean there are missing sprite files, it means it did find some files but they don't have the right number of images inside them. Like a film strip that is missing frames.
If I remember right, the games come with some blank "default" sprites in the Overlay Data folder. If the clothing sprites didn't inject into the right place, and/or you didn't put them there by hand, then your game would be reading the default files instead of the clothing sprites. The default sprites don't have the right number of frames, which would give you this kind of error.
Docking Station also doesn't overwrite existing sprites, so if there are default sprites in there, it won't replace them with the clothing sprites.
My suggestion would be to look in your Docking Station/Overlay Data folder, and see what's in there. See if you can tell me the following:
1. How many files are there? Seventeen? More? Less?
2. Can you see what date Windows Explorer (or whatever you use to see the folder) says they were created?
3. How do you install this agent? I can't download the file to see for myself, the link doesn't seem to be working. Does the download come with sprites that you have to put in the folder yourself, or is it just a .agents file?

it's just a .agents file. and there are seventeen files that were all last modified on at the same time on the same date. 1/8/2004 3:14 pm

Okay.
If you go into Docking Station/Images, are there any sprite files in there that have names starting with "over_"?

no, there's files starting with o, but no "Over_"

Hmm... well, that means that it isn't just installing the sprites to the wrong place. I can only think of one other thing that might be happening, though.
My last suggestion would be to try this:
1. Make a backup folder somewhere on your computer.
2. Move all the files from "Docking Station/Overlay Data" into that backup folder.
3. Start a new Docking Station world with no Creatures in it (just for testing). You don't want to load an existing world just yet.
4. Inject the professions agent in the new world, and see what happens.
If the agent is capable of working correctly in your game, then you should see new files appear in the Overlay Data folder, and the agent should work after that.
If it doesn't work, if no sprites appear, and/or if you get any errors while going through the above steps, then move the files from your backup folder back into the Overlay Data folder.

Did any new files appear in the Overlay Data folder?
If not, then I'm not sure what else to suggest.

In all honesty, it ain't that great. I recall doing a review of it on DS Galaxy a few years ago and found it very buggy and some of the features quite broken. |

Lolitiabear, maybe you could try private messaging Andrettin, the author of the Creature Professions agent, and see if he can provide you with any help. He's been online recently, so it's worth a shot. |

Hello there! It seems like the image files are not properly unpacking?
Here are the files that should go into the /Images/ folder
And here are the ones that should go into the /Overlay Data/ folder
Let me know if this solves your issue! |
