Everytime I try to run this program with C2 it cannot seem to make connection to the game. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance! |

Have you tried multiple times? I figured out that this happens every time an egg is laid, and it will give the error message once per egg. So if you try to connect and that happens, just keep doing it and it'll eventually work.
Unfortunately this bug cripples long-term use of the program for wolfing runs, as you have to be present at your keyboard to reconnect every time a Norn lays an egg. Very frustrating. |

What version of C2 do you have, the one in Albian Years or the original? Also, on what Operating System?
Followup Question: Have you ever uninstalled and re-installed C2 on that machine, or changed the default install location when you installed it?

Have you tried the remastered patch? It might help, but then again I've never gotten Wolf Control to work with my C2.

hmm... I'm not hugely familiar with windows 8... it may have something to do with the registry, but if you can, first try setting both to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP, and also run them both as administrator. This should ensure that UAC or something like it to protect processes/directories is not the issue.
If that doesn't work, then it's a good chance that the wolfling control is looking for a registry setting for C2, and it's not finding the registry key, in which case, you might be boned... BUT if that is the problem, some of these tools that connect to the games actually have a setting that let you tell it where the registry key for the game is (at least I remember seeing that setting before in one of the tools for C3...)

So, I just started up a fresh wolfrun and decided to fiddle with the wolfctrl settings to see if I could get it to behave.
Since I knew the connection errors had something to do with eggs, I disabled all egg-related options. And it no longer complains!
I'm now running Wolfling Monitor alongside WolfCtrl. WM handles unpausing of eggs, and WolfCtrl handles naming. It's a marriage made in Albia. |
