Hey everyone! In the spirit of Furniture Appreciation Day day I've decided to throw together a quick wolfing run using SERU norns - because for some reason, SERU norns and a day dedicated to practical jokes just seem to go together. Don't you think? All those genetic quirks...
*cue textwall* >0<
Here's how it'll work: eight norns born of the fabled SERU and their eight normal 1st gen counterparts (give or take, depending on how many people are actually interested...) will be turned loose in a verdant world that I've set up just for them. Keep in mind that I've let them all wander around a bit before-hand, just to weed out anyone with an unfortunate tendency to drop dead in infancy, as well as the ones that had such horrible mutations they couldn't survive on their own, so they're all currently in the adolescent stage. Also keep in mind that they're all genetic mysteries - they age at various rates, have various odd habits, and could be infertile for all I know. It's all part of the game!
For my purposes, the world they'll be living in is made up of the Norn Meso as well as the primordia v2 and silence falls metarooms. Agents added to the Meso include: DS Plantpack 1 & 2, Awkwood Creeper, Trapdoor Slinkers, and wooden blocks. Actually... there's a little pile of blocks in each area. Areas are linked via the usual, built-in routes and random teleports - one in the meso, one in silence falls, and two in primordia, due to its size.
The run will end when all norns of the first generation have passed on.
Each person interested in participating will choose a SERU norn from the list below (I could, alternatively, hatch you a new one if none of these guys tickles your fancy). And, to even things out a bit, each person will ALSO select a second 'backup' norn OF THE OPPOSITE GENDER - one with a normal old chichi genome - that can have whatever sprites they'd like. Now. Because I have quite a few norn breeds installed in my game, I'm not going to list them all here as they'd take up too much space. So just throw something at me and I'll tell you if I have it or not. Alternatively, if you're really curious, you can PM me for a full list. ^.^
So let's meet our crew:

Females: Ancient Structure, Cloistered Ball, Ugliest Purpose, Measly Gold

Males: Solid Reading, Reflective Comfort, Plant Car, Ugliest Existence
(They're listed with the names bestowed upon them by the Protective Tub, but feel free to personalize them a bit with a name of your own.)
The run will be scored accordingly:
+1 point for each hour your 'normal' norn lives.
+2 ponts for each hour your SERU norn lives.
+3 points for a death from old age.
+2 points for each offspring from your 'normal' norn.
+4 points for each offspring from your SERU norn.
+1 more point if said offspring is normal - I.E. not stillborn, slider, exc.
Now for the oh so simple form. Just fill it out, post it, and you're in.
Chosen SERU Norn: (insert name here - old name/new name, if you're renaming)
'Backup' norn: (name & sprites) |
*Participants:
~~~Submissions will end sometime on Friday, or when all the SERU norns have been chosen~~~
The winner gets bragging rights & a copy of their SERU norn, if they so desire. *jazz hands* Exciting, I know. But it's the best I have. XD
((P.S. - I've never tried to set up a public run like this before, so I'd appreciate it if you'd bear with me. <3 ))
Wow, I didn't expect this to fill up so fast!
Seeing as my computer refuses to connect to the internet, and I'm stuck on the tablet, I can't update the first post. But it's fine because everyone's backup norns have been created anyway, and are standing by in export-land for the run to start.There were no issues with the sprites anyone chose.^.^
I'll most likely be starting the run sometime tomorrow, because it's really late here and I have to be up early..
Kezune and Puddini - since there are two of you, would you both like me to hatch a random SERU norn for you? One of you would get a male, the other would get a female. That way the genders stay even. There's enough room in Primordia alone that I don't think four more norns would matter too much... as long as everyone else is fine with it?.
So here are the two new SERU norns:
Mundane Reward & Scandalous Cave (Protective Tub, WHY?), respectively.
Kezune and Puddini, if you'd pick one and tell me what you'd like your other norn to look like, I'll get the run started ASAP!
Otherwise, I'll take any new SERU Norn you whip up if there is still room, with the same backup listed here.
No, it's not dead XD
I've just been swamped with end of the semester school stuff all of a sudden.... I'll do my best to run the run either later this week or early next, once the most pressing assignments are out of the way.
Also, seeing as puddini hasn't returned, you get Scandalous Cave, evolnemesis!.
And the run has ended! Sorry it took so long to post results, but my internet is still being petulant and I only have intermittent access. Which is also the reason I couldn't post updates for you guys, which I was planning on doing. >.<
--------------------------
And the winner is
.......
punkmogwai's Ugliest Existence, with a whopping 61 points, mostly gained by having children! Guess the ladies didn't think he was that ugly after all, huh? If you'd like a copy of your norn (made before the run started), PM me.
Second is a tie between Laura's Astoria and evolnemesis' Scandolus Cave, both of who earned up 26 points.
Third is a three-way tie between kezune's Whistle, Jessica's Labyrinthe, and savannahs11's Plant Car, who all had 22 points to their name.
-------------------------
I've uploaded a pack containing all the surviving offspring from the run, in case anyone wants to play around with the babies.
Finally, if anyone's curious about anything or if anyone notices a math error, just ask/point it out!
Hopefully the next time I hold one of these, my internet will cooperate and I'll actually be able to post in-run updates... XD
Thanks for participating!
