More Exodus Difficulties

This will probably be my last question for a while, because I'm about ready to put the game down (at least for a while...).

So, after installing my agents and metarooms and such, I'm unable to make a docked world. Anyone know why? I can make an undocked world, and any docked worlds that were there before the installation of the agents and metarooms works just fine. I just can't make another docked world without an error popping up.

Note: I did run the remastered patch.

Hi Dark, what's the error that you're getting? If you can screenshot it and show us, we'll be able to help you better.

I can't seem to get it. The error happens just as it's about to finish loading the world and you hear the 'error sound' but the error doesn't pop up. So when I hit the button to minimize the game, I see it for a split second and then I'm back to my desktop and I can't see it anymore. :/

Did you try turning Autokill off first? Doing that should make a display box appear whenever there's an error message.

I went into the world that works and toggled autokill then tried the other again but I just got this.

Oh geez it won't even let me uninstall.

Would just deleting the folders in my documents and my computer work???

It might cause problems when trying to reinstall. If I were you, I'd track down the corresponding registry entries and remove them - that is, assuming your plan is to reinstall.

What happens when you try to uninstall? Is there an error?

Yeah, when I go to remove the program I get:

(An error occurred while trying to uninstall Creatures Exodus. It may have already been uninstalled.

Would you like to remove Creatures Exodus from the Programs and Features list?)

I definitely didn't uninstall it...

And I'd need a little more info on these registry entry things.

Update: Tried reinstalling it and then uninstalling it and that seems to have worked... Now to see if I can reinstall it.

Update 2: I was able to reinstall and create a new docked world. I haven't installed any agents or metarooms, just ran the patch and put in the offline fix.

I'm going to bed for now but I'll tinker more later and hopefully figure out the error message for creating new docked worlds after installing the agents and metarooms.

Let us know what you find out! I'd try adding new agents one at a time and seeing if maybe one of them is causing issues.

I had this problem with my recent reinstall and it took me ages to figure out. In the end it turned out that the problem was I had installed both the DS and C3 versions of the updated breeding script.

I restored the C3 one to default/vanilla, and only used the DS one and now I have no problems.

Just thought I'd let you know in case it solves your problem too.

Found it. Tried adding stuff in bunches and it turns out that the updated creaturebreeding.cos was the culprit!

Edit: I should have refreshed first, lol. Thank you I didn't realize there was a conflict if you installed both!

I wonder if this is why I can't seem to make an UNdocked world. I'll have to remember to check if I've updated the creaturebreeding cos files.

Spoke too soon, now I'm having trouble making an undocked world like Soloon. :/

This is the first error that pops up but there's a bunch that follow.

The fungi.cos file is for the C3 mushrooms - because the C3 ship rooms don't exist on an undocked world. Have you tried moving that file to the C3 bootstrap folder? What are the other files that are causing you grief?

Yep, that was the problem. I went through the cos files in DS and removed the ones meant for C3 (and made sure they were in the C3 folder) and now I'm able to create an undocked world and a docked world!

Thank you.
