| Problems with the HLM machine. | |

So, I have the agent that only lets norns use the HLM machine once. The problem is, it doesn't stop them from trying. My norns literally just stand there and push it.
Is there an agent that hides it by any chance? I haven't seen one anywhere. |

No idea. I've even tried using kill hots on it, and it just comes back.

I think there's a .cos file that automatically restores certain items when killed. If you remove the HLM from that list, kill hots would work.

Maybe someone should make an agent that can hide the HLM from the creatures' view...

An agent that hides the HLM would be wonderful.
As far as removing the item from a list in a cos file that is unfortunately beyond the small list of things I know how to do. |

I have the same 'one use' HLM thingy. My problem is that the HLM machine seems to make my creatures addicted to pushing *any* machinery. When they are bored they prefer pushing machinery to pushing toys, gadgets, anything else. (But the machinery doesn't actually seem to help with boredom).
I've been trying to make them push lots of toys before letting them near the HLM, but its a bit hard cos they can't verb yet! I looked at the .cos file hoping to identify some sort of 'reward' stim coming from the HLM, but I honestly have no idea what I'm actually looking for. |

Guys, throwing the EM Jammer (fourth on the list here) on the HLM works to make it invisible the same way throwing it on a door or lift button does.
If memory serves the proper placement is on the little clickable blue screen. You'll know it works when the animation freezes.
That's why I like keeping the EM Jammer in my agents folder even though I find the Button and Door Hiders more reliable. The EM Jammer works on a lot of stuff that don't count as buttons OR doors. If memory serves you can also toss it on a lot of the gadgets, too, which is helpful to keep creatures from dismantling machine set-ups. |

I solved the problem myself to change the stims that the HLM gives. Instead of reducing boredom n stuff (the reason it is so addicting), it now inflicts them a terrible pain. They do not get injured, though, it is more like an electroshock. Not particularly nice, especially to kids, but it teaches them to keep their little hands off it.
Also, I modified the machine so that when the hand clicks it, everyone in the world learns speaking at once.
