I'm aiming to unveil the new Creatures Caves layout and design on January 1st, 2015, which gives me about two and a half months to finish it.

Suggestions welcome!

Hello,

My suggestions would be:

• Change the color scheme to brighter one. At the moment, it looks little too dark and depressing.

• Redesign the "Creatures Caves" logo so that it's more branded and defined.

• Redesign the structure/flow of the Creatchi section. At the moment, it's little confusing and not so easy to browse pages.

• Creatchi section could have its own look and feel so that it would look more playful and fun, not just a part of Creatures Caves site.

These are just suggestions. I know how to design and use software, so I can help with these. :)

Maybe make a cretachi inbox so we don't have to deal with all the cretachi messages? while the remove all cretachi messages button is helpful, it doesn't really help when your inbox is full of social requests and you have to go through and click each one and go to messages and click and messages and... etc. maybe just another message on the same topic saying "Your cretachis have now socialized" or something.

I have to say that I like the coloring scheme.

What I kinda miss is a "mark as read" button for individual sub-forums. It is nice to see discussions for all the games going on, but I frankly said never played any other than C3/DS myself, so discussions related to the other games don't really interest me :P
Just as an example I mean.

Papriko raises a good point. Sometimes if you go away for a while, it's nice to be able to mark as read when you get back. So many new posts!

But... I thought moderators loved casting their eye over all the posts! ;)

This doesn't have to do with aesthetics, but I think it would be helpful for posts to have permalinks. There's helpful information on the forums, outside the resource articles, and it's a hassle to have to scroll down threads or search results just to refer back to a specific post.

Another way to get coinchi could be useful, and may encourage more people to shop at the Creatchi Mart when they're stuck for items. It'd be cool if we could donate our extra funds to each other!

I'd love to donate my coinchi - I almost never use it and it's stocking up.

Maybe we could make the poll section a little more visible? Perhaps on the front page and/or on the mycaves hub, together with the "Latest Bibbles" or "Website Updates". The poll section used to be more active, but now I have the impression that it stagnates a little.
You forget about the polls too easily. They pop up in the updates once, afterwards they only re-appear in the comments feed, where they are drowned by comments on bibbles, creatchis, pictures and so on.

With the upgrade to PHP 5, will the planned revamp be delayed?

Would it be worthwhile investigating whether the Let's Encrypt service would be appropriate for Creatures Caves? It's going to launch in the northern summer of 2015, so it won't be available in time for this planned upgrade, but it's a free public-key certificate authority, and they reckon it's going to make implementing TLS as pain-free as possible.
