Hi folks - mods, please move this if required as I'm not sure where to post it!
I've tried this with the original volcano.cos, with the updated version that turns the rocks into toys (available from CC downloads) and with a version of volcano.cos called the "boulder renovation script". All allow the hand to pick rocks up (right click) but left-click doesn't do anything. If I drop the rocks from a height, they'll break. But I seem to remember on my old Creatures install, I used to be able to left-click rocks, and this would break them. Does anyone have a copy of that script, or know what I'd need to change to make this happen? Changing attr from 195 to 199 allows the hand to "hit" the rocks, but it's a simple-object-hit which just causes it to bounce. Is there a "hand hits object" script that needs modifying? |

You'd have to set all rock type attributes to 199 as you said and add a 'push' script for them.
That would be
for the hot rocks and
for the cold rocks if I got it right in the original script. In the [...] part there has to be the collision part where the rocks break, which would be

I hope this helps a little bit! |

The hot ones actually are not breakable.

No - it was never the hot ones, just after they'd cooled down and become "toy", then the hand could break them (and the bits were toys, too). I wonder if this was something to do with the garden box? I've got the GB gnarlers, and the more toys the better, as far as they're concerned.
Thanks for the scripts, Luzze - I'll have to have a play. |

It might have been to do with garden box, I swear the only way I've ever been able to break them is through chucking them about! |

Nah, I said it because Luzze also included the script ID for hot rocks.

Hmm, I got the script part out of the commented cos file and it has one break script for 'BAD rocks' and 'GOOD rocks' which I thought to behot and cold ones..
If this isn't the case I wonder what the difference between the bad and the good is actually ^^ and if it is hot/cold then why do the hot ones have a seperate breaking script o.O |

Well, I guess the bad rocks really are the hot ones, since ingame they are classified as "bad", but I don't think they can be broken, at least not by default.
Someone had to inspect the image file to see if smaller hot rock frames are provided at all. There had to be several for each size, as they have a slight animation for gradually cooling down.

No, there are no images for hot breaking rocks... according to the script, breaking a hot rock would result in cool rocks. But it's prevented by a ov - check on top it.. soo the hot - rock breaking is somehow unnessecary .. |
