| Norns forever stuck in lifts | |

Any ways to get norns to ignore lifts more? With a group of 20 running about I seem to always end up with most of them endlessly going up and down when I come back to check on them, since one or two of them are continually pressing the buttons and trapping any norns who happen to be walking past. A lift full of extremely crowded norns is very unproductive! Any fixes that makes norns less obsessed with the lifts, or make the lifts invisible for two minutes after being used or whatever?
Edit: This is in c3. Never had such trouble with it in the older ones. |

Have you considered using some tactfully-placed Selective Force Fields to disperse the crowds? |

There's a fix which makes the c3 lifts carry only the norns standing in it and not all norns anywhere nearby. It doesn't solve the problem completely but it made it much better in my game at least! It's contained in this download. |

The other thing you could try is removing the lifts and replacing them with elevines - they only act on the norn who pushes them and they transport instantaneously. |

I remember there was an electric wall agent somewhere, though Amaiko's room edit obsoleted it. It would create an actual wall but could only be placed in "certain places" (the room borders).
Selective force field is good, I've used it in my worlds as long as I can remember, though norns don't seem to figure out what's going on when they get pushed back, and insist on wallbonking it until they change their mind. |

I just use door/button/lift hiders. They cannot push what they cannot see. I provide them with other methods of stimulation and they seem rather happy.
I only do that for non-CFE norns though. All the CFE's I've had generally do not bother with the lifts, unless they are a Treehugger and are freaking out, needing to escape from three Bondis hanging around far too close...

Thank you all! The lift fix seems to have done the job for now, norns are nicely distributed and only 3 or 4 going up and down in each lift. Might switch to the elevines in a little bit!
Where might I find the button hiders, Isis? I relied on the buttonlocks for c2 almost religiously! Shame there's no nice wide flat places in c3 like the top of the world and down in the jungle in c2. |

I do not have the link ready to go, but I believe if you go to seeyou7.net and check the agent list for "door hider" and "button/lift hider" you should be given a link to their download. If not, I can look around for it or email you them. I'm just a bit busy to look right now. *flees*
