According to the official documents the creatures series, creatures live for a matter of hours. It may depend on the breed, but on average how long do the creatures live in each game? Based on breeds, who lives the shortest, and longest in each game?
I raise the question cause a friend had Astro Norns live for 14 hours, and I couldn't find anything on life span info for the games or breed, except for what the manual says.

In C3/DS the prize probably goes to the Tilynn Norns. AFAIK, from all non-highlander breeds, they live the longest with about 18 hours.

As far as C3/DS goes, the standard norn lives for about five and a half hours, and the default C3 grendel lives for almost four hours.
It's been a while since I've played with any breeds beyond that, but I do know the bondi norns and treehugger norns live longer than normal while hardman norns are shorter lived. I believe standard ettins live for about as long as standard grendels do.
That's just for C3/DS, though. I've no real idea about the previous games.

In C1 there's a bit of range, but you can expect around 10 hours - more if you use cobs that inject life chemical. The original genome had no "death from aging" receptor, so the norns could effectively be immortal if you looked after them - they'd get to the ancient life stage but never die. (Same goes for the grendels.)
C2, I don't know... but I struggled to get them to live beyond about 20 minutes before they passed out. |
