I bought the "Albian Years" pack a little while ago, and while C1 works fine, every time I try to open a world in C2 I get this error;
The error [DDERR_INVALIDPARAMS] has been detected when attempting to draw game sprites.
Please check that your desktop is in 16-bit video mode, Microsoft DirectX is correctly installed and that you have the latest driver software for your graphics card
Extra information: C Program Files (x86)\Gameware Development\Creatures Albian Years\Creatures 2\Images\syst.S16
I really don't know what's wrong. DirectX is installed, I'm pretty sure my graphics card is okay (though I don't know much about graphics cards in general) and my resolution is on High Color 16-bit, though I don't know what is means by "video mode". |

Are you using the GOG.com version of Albian Years or the standard version? What operating system are you using, by the way? The standard version won't work on most modern operating systems. |

My operating system is Windows 7, and I got my copy of Albian Years from an amazon download. Now I'm kind of feeling stupid for not getting it off GOG.com in the first place, it's like half the price I paid. >.< |

Yeah, Like C-Rex said, all other versions of Creatures 2 (at least as far as I know) don't work aside from the GOG.com version. Maybe I need to stock up on those gift codes again... I was handing those out left and right since the price often goes down to $2.99 or so during sales! There is no way to get C2 working, unfortunately. Maybe there's some secret method, though I've never heard of anything else working. Maybe the GOG.com version will go on sale again soon and you'll be able to grab it!

Meh, I bought it now anyways. Six dollars isn't too much. |
