Help Forum How to find a long-lost DS account?    Kinga      6/4/2014 I made a ds account a long, long time ago, and haven't logged on in a long time. I can't remember what my username is and I've been trying all my usual names and nothing seems to work. I don't think I have the email either. Is there some way to find my username despite the site being down? Maybe someone has the name logged as a contact in one of their worlds? It's probably a lost cause, but I really want to play online again...   Sanely Insane RisenAngel Manager     6/4/2014 Unfortunately, there isn't. Not that it matters anymore, as the DS server has been offline for what I believe has been years now. There's a few projects aimed at bringing DS back online, but so far none of them has made really significant progress. I see people posting COBs and creatures involving or mentioning online play, as late as 2014... I just thought the servers were still online, but ridiculously hard to get onto.   Prodigal Sock Ghosthande     6/4/2014 It's true; although people still share stuff the old-fashioned way, the last time I remember the server being up was when Live Nornish Action was still going on... which was quite a while ago now. The company that owns Creatures hasn't even been maintaining their own web site, much less the DS server, so unless Fishing Cactus et. al. get involved the situation is unlikely to change.   Code Monkey evolnemesis   6/4/2014 I know DS was online at least as late as about 2009 or 2010, because I made an account back then, and got nothing but immortal idiot norns that were incapable of moving and just sat and stared creepily or ones that did nothing but run to push a warp right away, actually that's not totally true, I got one nice pink chichi who was pretty cool... I hope one of those projects eventually is able to do well. Until then, we're stuck using the offline function. Which doesn't come with DS on its own, but I believe if you install C12DS an offline login button is included that allows you to play without logging in.   Kinga   6/5/2014 I know, I've been playing DS offline but I got a little confused... I thought that it was still online, but new accounts were closed and the server connection was shoddy most of the time anyway, or something like that.
