I am trying out the Magic Words SERU. Two odd things:
2.It lays 3 eggs at a time; it happened 3 times and I was careful to make sure I was not retyping somehow.
3. In each batch of 3, two were born dead and one survived. In some cases the death icon appeared before the egg finished hatching. In one case the creature lived about 1 minute.
Any ideas why I would get multiple eggs and such a high stillborn rate?

Do you have any toxic genomes? That could account for a high rate of stillbirths. I'm not sure about the threes, though.

I have not hatched or unpacked the toxic norns yet.
The odd thing is the three eggs, its as if two of them are mistakes somehow. Consistently one out of each set of three survives.
I have C3DS on another computer, when I get a chance I will try SERU on that install. |

I believe the 3 eggs at a time was on purpose. The original SERU, you would get an egg at a time, and each time, you had a chance for a stillborn, maybe a 50/50, heck you'd have a 33/33/33 chance for an interesting, crippled, or stillborn creature.
I've had 2 out of 3 survive though!

I don't know about the 3 eggs at a time, but I do know that the stillborn rate for SERU creatures seems to be very high. Many, many, many of my SERU babies have been either stillborn or died shortly after birth.

Thanks for the replies. I won't worry about it then, and just take it as normal. The survivors include some really interesting, if wierd-looking, creatures, I might have something upload-worthy.

The high stillborn and genetic abnormality thing, is on purpose ;3
IT all makes sense in story

I don't think it's on purpose - it's possibly due to the fact that the genes are going for five generations without being selected for or against. If a norn can't walk to food, it won't survive to breed - but in SERU, it can.

I wonder with which mutation rate SERU works. Cranking it up or down has a major influence too. I mean, when you have my supersplicer (I don't mind if you do not have it, it's UGLY), you can try to set both values to 255. Your creatures will die pretty much all the time.
Setting the ratios very low on the other hand grants good survival chances, but the creatures may be a little... boring?

Odd.... my magic words Seru only drops one egg at a time..... but I did have the magic words clone making extras for a while. It was doing that because I had the .cos installed & was injecting the agent as well, possibly that is why magic words Seru is creating three eggs at a time for you. |

I will double check to make sure I am not using both files. |
