I'm super excited that I can play the creatures games again after so long but I have noticed a couple issues that cropped up and just can't seem to find the answer here on the forums or anywhere else online. I have a vague idea that maybe one of the grendel breeds I downloaded for DS, or more precisely their sprites is causing the game to crash since it says "docking station engine.exe has stopped working. Map opened, cannot access file", or something to that effect and wanted to verify here.
I also have noticed, that the breeding pair/max population jumps to 100 and 102 even if i change them to 10 and 8, they change back to the high numbers. In effect all of my eggs hatch which makes it impossible to leave them to their own devices if they breed. I tried to see what code line it was so i could go in to fix it manually but I couldn't figure out what to change.
And now more recent. (Just now), now i'm getting an error that says there's a C++ runtime error in which the engine.exe: Application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Have you tried removing all of your third-party content then running the game? I suggest narrowing down possible culprits by removing things by category, eg. "metarooms", "breeds", "fauna and flora", etc. You can use Kris_D's Breed Uninstaller to remove downloaded breeds.
What OS and release of C3/DS do you have? Have you installed the Creatures Remastered Patch and Update 2? |
