Hi I'm looking for the world backdrops of C1, C2, and the jungle and aquatic terrariums of C3. I remember you used to be able to find these easily on Google, not anymore.. I actually have some but they are a mediocre quality and I'd really like to replace them. I was surprised to learn creatures Wiki doesn't have them either (AFAIK, I'm still searching) Is there somewhere I can get these? Thanks in advance. |

I'm not sure if it was you who asked over at Discover Albia, but you can find the Creatures 1 backdrop on Flickr from Laurence Parry. For what purpose are you looking for them? I believe you can piece together the background sprite elements in C2 to create a full map, just as you can for C1. As for the C3 terrariums, I'm not sure where you could find them. But hopefully this gets you started! |

That's it! But Flickr doesn't let you download it. =/ I was looking for them to make desktop backgrounds with, I have a lot of pictures from games on a rotator. It's just I realized my current versions of the pictures are either missing huge chunks or look like a somebody printed them out, folded them a few dozen times and scanned them back in. I figured I might have to extract them from the game files somehow, I'm sure C3 terrariums would work the same way, I don't have anything to extract with though. |

On that Flickr page, if you click the '...' button on the far right, there's a 'Download/All Sizes' option.  Have you tried that? |

Yes, I've always wanted a full image of the C2 backdrop! PlotholeWarrior, let me know if you plan on putting one together. If not I think I'll try it myself. I tried piecing one together like 10 years ago, but my computer at the time would slow waaay down once the image started to get big, so I gave up. As Laura said, you just have to go to the correct sub-page on Flickr to download the full-size image. You should be able to find it here. I usually link to the main page because it has more information about the author and whatnot. But that should at least cover C1! |

Sprite Builder does indeed work on Windows 7 (it works fine on mine, at least). As for getting at the C3/DS backgrounds, Edos (included with Jagent) can open .blk files (the file format metaroom backgrounds use). You can then export the image as a .png or what have you, though it does add a bunch of black to the edges for some reason. Risen Angel's Creatures Blog |

Jagent worked like a charm! Here are the backgrounds for the Jungle and Aquatic Terrariums: Jungle Terrarium Aquatic Terrarium As Grendel Man said, there's some extra blank space at the right and bottom edges. |

Thanks Lambie for the pictures! I've been a bit busy but I found my C2 CD so probably tomorrow I'll take a look at piecing the background together if I have time. |

I just realized I ripped those screens as .png files through Jagent, but their original format was probably bitmap? That's the format of that C1 background Jessica linked to. I don't know if it matters necessarily, but let me know if you want those files as .bmp instead. |

Resurrecting an old thread but I'm currently working on a project for Creatures 1 which involves modifying the background. I have a full sized .bmp of the C1 background but I'm still after the C2 one so if anyone still has a working link or knows a program I can use to convert the Back.S16 file into a complete .bmp please help me out. Really not looking forward to the potential alternative of piecing the background together myself. |

According to the Creatures Wiki, there was a site called C2 Back - the archive still has all the images. That has a series of 6 bmps that should be easier to stitch together than the entire back.s16. My TCR Norns |
