I'm a bit of a newbie, please bear with me.
Is it possible to export the eggs from the world or just the hatched norns?
Thanks! |

No worries: All questions are welcome here! There is no way to export eggs from a world. Only hatched Norns may be exported. What are you trying to do with the eggs? If you pick up an egg when it is full grown but not yet hatching, it will pause the process and you can store the egg to hatch in the incubator at a later time.
Alternatively, if you're looking for the genome of the unhatched Norn, let us know, and someone will post a process for finding that soon!
If you have any other questions about C1, don't hesitate to ask!

Ha! I'm Sayonara on reddit. Thanks for helping me out here as well. Exporting the eggs was just an organization thing, down the road I don't want to be confused as to which norns are educated and which aren't. I could probably just put a string at the end of the filename to tag them, now that I think about it.
I was just wanting to breed selectively just to see which physical traits I could control and do some artificial selection to the population. I'm not sure how much of the genome I could grasp yet, I've only got about 4 hours into the game and two breeding pairs so far.

So nice to see you here! I often use a spreadsheet to keep track of my exported Norns and/or unhatched eggs. Maybe that could be useful in your efforts to remember who's been educated, and even with your selective breeding project? Hope it's all going well for you!

Ack, I just read that the creatures 1 norns are immortal. Is this something they fixed in the GOG version or is it still the case? I may have to start over. |

Unfortunately, the GOG.com version comes with the immortal Norns. Kezune created a great update, which you can download here. It was a pretty bad oversight if you ask me... Some people like having Norns around forever, but I would think the default would have been realistic, limited life span Norns. With that update, Norns typically live anywhere from 8-13 hours before dying of old age. Hope this helps!

Thanks again! I got the updated genetics files copied in and I'm gonna give it another shot. Do creatures 2 and 3 have immortal norns as well or was that just a C1 issue? |

Just C1, although c2/c3 creatures can evolve to become immortal (long wolfling runs tend to generate groups of immortal creatures quite often, since a mutation like that, once it pops up, obviously gives them a huge advantage in spreading their genetics.) There are some breeds that have this capability taken out though, by making the genes responsible unable to mutate... for example Vampess' Creatures Full of Edits.

It might be best to create a new topic to get answers to your question, Coroden. However, it sounds like you might have a case of import shock. I typically have this occur with pregnant Norns who have been exported, although it is a random occurrence. If you backed up the file, you may be able to salvage the Norn following the directions in that link. Good luck!
