when i go to the my worlds folder in docking station, there is only the readme file that warns about copying worlds. however, the worlds can be loaded just fine.
how is the game loading the world if it presumably loads from the world folder?
and how do i obtain exported creatures this way? |

You might have two separate locations in Mu Documents, like I do with my GOG.com Creatures Exodus install. There is the folder Creatures\Creatures Exodus\Docking Station, which only has a Readme document in the My Worlds folder, but is where I find My Agents. In order to find My Worlds and My Creatures (which are the ones exported) I have to navigate to Creatures\Docking Station. You might find this split in My Documents, or possibly some folders/files are in Program Files. Hope this helps!

Have you looked in My Documents and Program Files, making sure that there are no hidden files?

Exported Creatures should show up in your "My Creatures" folder. Is that folder anywhere? I'm afraid I'm nearly out of ideas because I'm only familiar with the GOG.com install of Creatures Exodus.

Is some kind of lock displayed next to the folders when you view the Docking Station directory from the Genetics Kit? It could be that the folders are protected and that you can open them from the administrator on your PC.
Anyway, you could also try to copy the folders while viewing them from your genetics kit and paste them elsewhere.
I remember having similar problems trying to edit files; gene files for instance. I'd put them in a different folder in my documents or wherever I liked to and put them back in the original directory when I was done making edits.
However, these are the experiences I've had with Windows 7; if you use a different system I doubt if I can be of any help to you. I'd be deeply sorry! ![[noddeye] [noddeye]](/images/smilies/emot_oddeye.gif) |
