Hello everyone,

I've played C3 (+ Docking Station) for many years now, but I have to admit I'm rather a newbie when it comes to downloading ;)
I've tried to download several creatures from this website, but it doens't seem to work.
The files are standing in my download map, but I can't find a creatures 3 map to put it in? :(

The new breeds simply won't get themselves able in my game *snif*

Feel free to ask further information :)

You might have some luck checking out this resource article. What version of C3/DS are you using? You will need the Creatures Remastered Patch if you're using Creatures Exodus. This patch allows third-party addons to be installed properly.

Check both My Documents and the C : drive for the Creatures folders. I noticed you mentioned that you were playing off of your CD versions, which aren't always compatible with newer systems. Definitely check out the version from GOG.com.

Hope some of this helps you out! Best of luck, and enjoy!

I definitely remember: Great to see you've joined Creatures Caves! Hope my answers have been halfway helpful so far. Sometimes I ramble on, but I'm sure you'll have things working in no time!

Any luck so far?

Which breeds/creatures are you trying to download? Most of the breeds come with Readme files providing installation instructions. :)

With breeds, it's usually just a case of putting the .agents file into your Program Files\...\Docking Station\My Agents\ folder.

With adoptions, the .Creature files go into your Documents\Creatures\Docking Station\My Creatures\ folder (if you're playing the 'Creatures Exodus' version of C3 & DS).

Its difficult to give really specific instructions without knowing a few things. The directions will be a little different depending on what game and version you are playing, and what type of file (agent, cob, cos or creature) you want to use.

In fact: my game doesn't seem to have any maps or files.
When ai search for Docking Station, there are no maps I can place files in, nor are there any for my C3 game..
I am trying to add new breeds for C3 DS, doesn't matter which one, none of them seem to work :(

Add: maybe my C3 is downloaded (I mean put on a CD right.from the.internet) I will have to ask my uncle about that, he gave it to me about ten years ago.
I am sure I am not playing the exodus version, I had to download the DS later from the internet

What do you mean by 'maps'?

Folders? Don't know if that's the real English word for it? Like program> my creatures..

Please make sure to edit your posts to add new information. Double-posting is OK, so long as the posts are pretty spread out and have additional information. Just something to keep in mind. Thanks!

As to the "maps" I'm guessing you're referring to folders? Do you have an administrator account on the computer you're using? Sometimes files/folders are only visible to admins. The older versions of the games can be a bit funky. Laura's descriptions above should be about where you can find the game files, unless you've used another setup. I still recommend purchasing the GOG.com version of Creatures Exodus, as this is known to work on most newer operating systems and we're all pretty familiar with its setup.

You want to put .creature files into the 'My Creatures' folder. :) That will let you choose to import them when you are playing the game.

@Malkin, yes I have been searching.for.that folder, but it doesn't seem to.exist :(

Maybe the only option is just to buy exodus..
I will let you know when I have made any further progress ;)
Thanks for.the.informatiom everyone!

(btw what time is it now in your country? In the Netherlands it is now 2 am so I am going to take a nap right.now ;))

Have you been looking in the My Documents folder and the Program Files folder? Sometimes you might have to click the option for 'view hidden folders', because modern computers are paranoid about people installing things onto their systems.
