As CCSF '13 is coming closer now, I thought of this idea. I'm calling it "The Idea Incubator".
What is it all about?
I see a lot of members who have great ideas for COBs, breeds, agents, metarooms, fanfiction and such, but don't have the skills to make them. On the other hand I also see members with these skills who want to make some stuff, but don't know what. Because of this, I came up with this idea.
How does it work?
Members can post ideas, where other members can vote on. There's a limit of how many votes you can make in a given time - for example, five votes per week. You can use all your votes for one idea, or use them for different ideas. You can even vote on your own ideas. People are able to comment on your ideas too. Developers and writers can then choose to make your idea come true. Both the idea submitter and the developer/writer get the amount of votes awarded as points, so they are encouraged to come up with ideas and realizing them.
It's just a draft, so there may be things that can be changed. What do you guys think of it?

Sounds cool to me! There are a lot of ideas that would be really cool, but no one has created them yet, and this would be a good way to encourage people to create things and to come up with ideas.

I think it is a great idea.
A Conceptual Concept Repository haha!
I personally hope to have a metaroom idea each day of CCSF to show!

Beat me to the idea, Eprillios! I was going to post a basic idea dump of a lot of things that have been mentioned recently, but I like how you've structured this! I like the voting, which will help actually gauge the interest in each idea. It's all well and good to have a constant stream of ideas, but I can see how it can be overwhelming. Hopefully this works out well! Definitely would love to see this posted soon! Maybe if it works out really well, it could even be extended beyond the CCSF. After all, we love new releases throughout the entire year!

Beat me to the idea, too! I was going to post something along these lines also. Way to go, ninja Eprillios!

Oh wow this is cool!
I'm really not good at digital art, and don't know how to code, but there's a certain metaroom theme I'd love to see done. |

That's funny, Jessica and DarbyDoo. Thanks for all the positive feedback guys! However, I currently lack time and experience to run a big project like this. I would love it if someone could do this. I'd be happy to assist.

I agree that it sounds like a fantastic concept with a lot of potential. After all, more ideas with a structured voting system should in theory result in more COBs, agents and metarooms being made.
Maybe 'The Idea Incubator' could become a new feature for our Development section? |

That sounds great, Laura. I was thinking about asking Rascii if he could implement it here. I'm excited about this; I'm already having ideas for agents.

One thing I still need to think about: What are members able to do with points? I was thinking about public leaderboards and that the points are publicly visible, but I'm wondering if you guys have better ideas. Maybe some sort of awards?
