Which game are you playing?
What happened before it crashed? Were you adding a new agent? CAOSing? Was a norn having a life event?
Depending on what happened, it might be possible to rescue the world. Otherwise, I suppose you could use the genetics kit to lay eggs with their genomes, but they wouldn't be exactly the same.

MemoryMappedFile::Open
Memory mapped file error
Not enough storage is available to process this command.
hit continue
AHE0008: Attempt to access garbaged handle
Crashed
i'm playing c3 docked with ds and c1toc3
i had just left it alone for 10 hours came back and realized i had left the pop limit set at 10 times normal (i had done some pruning of the stock and needed to hatch eggs and inject a couple genomes, and forgot to turn it back to 25 so the limit was at 250)
game was running slow, but running, i minimized it to the background to look for an agent and it crashed after about 10 mins |

Okay, I have not seen the first error before, but I think it means that you did not have enough memory available to run the game. You had too many norns for your computer to handle.
I have seen the second error, and there has been a thread about it. Are you using the GOG version of Creatures? If not, then you might want to install that instead. Otherwise, try checking the bootstrap folder to see if anything is missing. Also, check what size your engine.exe file is. If it isn't a GOG version, then it should be about 2.25Mb. If it is, then it should be 2.48Mb.

What agents did you have installed?
Did you do anything specific right before it crashed? For example, opening another program.
Are any worlds besides this one broken?
Try reading this thread, and see if anything in it helps.

i read that thread, it just has the same suggestions that you gave, and no resolution unfortunately.
autonamer, gaia, cupid's lyre, creature monitor, inseminator were the injected agents i can recall, and about 30 norn breeds
other worlds work
and as i said before c12ds |

Are there any specific differences between this world and the ones that work?
I know that I've been able to use all of those agents except Gaia. Did you inject Gaia at the start of the world, or before the crash?

about 15 hours before the crash i injected gaia and the creature monitor. and it ran fine the whole time i was gone. I even have an earlier backup that i took before i left for work of the same world that runs fine, i think it is the prodigous number of creatures in the world thats causing my problem. but i dont want to lose all of that natural selection, and mutating time |

there wouldn't happen to be a utility that can pull the genetics out of the world save, and turn them into exports is there? |

You can do that yourself, bobertneek. In your Docking Station directory there should be a folder entitled "My Worlds". Inside are all the folders for worlds you have created. Find the folder for your world which keeps crashing; there is "Genetics" folder. Inside are all the genetic files for the Norns that were in the world at the time it saved. Hope this helps! |

Okay, I definitely agree with having lots of creatures being a problem, but I'm not sure if that's what happened with the second error.
Anyway, you can definitely get the genetics, but I don't think there is any way to get the original creatures back. To get the genetics, just look in Docking Station/My worlds/(name of your world)/Genetics. Then, you can use the genetics kit to open them and lay eggs with those genomes.
Edit: ninja'd.

okay so i tried loading the world/genetics genomes with the genetics kit but every norn i inject is the same no matter which file i select, but they show different genetics when i examine the dna
its this sadomasochist norn that i was making. it gets sexdrive from being slapped, and has other edits. very good breeders.
but not what i was injecting. grr.
maybe i have to reinstall the kit
