Hi! Is it possible for a creature to activate the airlock?

Hook a machine up to the air lock and have the machine on the ground for your creature to press. Then, put a creature into the airlock or let them walk in on their own then tell them to 'push machinery.'

I would recommend either the lightbox or the positive/negative switch. Make sure you put it outside the airlock if you don't want to lose the gadget.

The Lightbox has red, yellow and green buttons on it and starts in the Norn Terrarium and in the bridge, below the medibay.

The Positive/Negative switches are next to the stone of knowledge in the bridge. There are two of them next to each other. Don't confuse it for the radio which should have a 1 on it. The positive/negative switch should be gray-ish and has some red at the top.

You can use either gadget, there might be a few more that can be used but I would recommend using the above two. When you get either one, wire the output to the input of the airlock button. Outputs should have a small white bit in the middle and inputs will just look a bit like a hole.

If you used the Lightbox then you say "Push Gadget" but if you use the Positive/Negative switch then say "Push Machinery"

Hope this helped. [nsmile]

What I used was the switch that activates when a creature walks by it, so it goes off when they walk in c:

Presumably you can wire it up to another detector to, say, only trigger when it's a grendel walking past, or pushing it?

Dunno about a creature detector that detects if a certain creature pushes it then signals, but thats always a possible agent.

I guess if I wanted to wire up an airlock, I'd use the numeric output tool, the creature detector and a delay gate. My suggestion is to put the creature detector next to the left airlock, then hook it up to the numeric output tool (the silver thing which can be set to a 3 digit number) and set the numeric output tool to 10. Then hook that to a delay gate just to keep the pace nice and smooth - delay by about 4 I'd say - then connect the delay gate to the airlock button.

That will make the airlock go off when ettins, grendels or norns are inside. You could hook it up to a button like others have pointed out which will allow norns to indirectly activate it, but any button would have to be placed on the outside of the airlock to prevent it from being blown out. The creature detector, like everything else, can be moved/broken by norns, but it's probably a more sustainable system than a button as it doesn't rely on a creature's attention being compromised.

Oh wait scrap that, I'm getting the numeric output tool mixed up with the mirality comparator. Maybe try it with that.
