Hi it's me again. This time I was trying to figure out a way to have unofficial breeds (such as the C1toDS norns or the centaurs or whatever) have the CFE+Gizmo genome instead of the standard one. I remember in C3-standalone there was some kinda genome egg maker agent that could do this in-game, basically let you select the spriteset, the genome and gender and it would do the rest. I can't remember what it was called and I don't know if it will work with DS, maybe there's another way? |

What I sometimes do is to open up a CFE genome with the Genetics Kit. Then I just change the appearance genes to match those of the breed I would like, and I get an instant CFE conversion! I'm not sure of any agents that can do this, but I've found it to be pretty nifty when doing it through the Genetics Kit.

I think the "agent" you're talking about is EasyGMS (actually a web application, but it does what you describe.) |

It was definitely an agent, here it is somebody converted it to DS Universe of Ettins it's called the "Egg Maker", i thought for surely it was a goner.
still i recall it had some limitations i do not remember what they where, i don't actually have an install ATM im still getting stuff together so i cant exactly test it, I'll grab a copy of the Genetics Kit just in-case i run into problems (I hope it works with windows 7) and i'll be sure to check out that site, thanks
EDIT: wow im really having editing problems today |

Just in case you're not aware of it, the download links on the Gameware site are broken, so it looks like nothing is available. However, you can get the Genetics Kit from here (C3_DS_GK_1_16_4.exe) and can find the username and license key on this page. Should work in Windows 7: I haven't had any issues! Best of luck!

Thank you for the download
now i've just stumbled upon "Colortrue CFE norns"
there is a warning at the bottom of the page, the part i'm concerned with is "Colortrue Norns should not be mixed with other breeds, as the offspring may be sliders or die."
what do they mean? do they mean the entire breed (spriteset+genome) or just creatures with a different genome as theirs?
oh and, say i make other spritesets use the CFE-CT genome, do they just automatically come out of the eggs with random colors or do i have to make separate versions with different colors? |

It just means that you shouldn't breed them wit creatures with a different genome. There is a chance that you can breed healthy, normal creatures, though the chances are very slim. The reason for this is that adding and moving around the colortrue genes tends to cause the genes to inherit improperly when they're out-bred and that tends to produce still-births and sliders. Colortrue breeding with other colortrue works just fine, though.
To answer your second question, you'd have to make separate versions for different colors.
