Male Ettin Genetics

Hello again! I've got a question regarding Ettin genetics. I've got 2 male Ettins and some females. My females all act like normal little kleptomaniacs but my males don't pay any attention to machinery, don't wander around, and don't go to the Ettin Mother when homesick. I'm hoping for someone to see if this is normal behavior for males and if it is, see if there's any genes that are responsible for it. Also, if any of you want to make this into a big project, I've no problem, heck I encourage it!

Do you have Gene Compare? You can compare his genetics to the normal ettin genetics by finding his moniker in the game, finding an identically named file in your "My Worlds > World Name > Genetics" folder and comparing it to your "Creatures3 > Genetics ettin.final46e.gen" file. That would probably provide you with more information than us guessing. :P

Males should steal gadgets. Do you have any other Ettin breeds installed? Maybe one of those hatched from the egg layer.

Nope these are regular C3 Desert Ettins and I don't have any other breeds. One came from splicing, the other is the son of the first. I'm gonna make a few more unrelated males and see if they show the same behavior. As for using gene tools to look at their genomes, the thought of that seems, er, daunting. I meant for someone more experienced to look at a male Desert Ettin's(they make it in their own games for the sake of unrelatedness)genes if I found that the abnormal behavior is typical for males, but not if the behavior was limited to just these two. I will come back later to talk about the results for my experiment and if further examination is necessary.

Ok, back now with test results and a small feeling of guilt. I used 3 ettins in the test(actually 4, but 1 died immediately after birth[nsad]), 1 showed abnormal behavior, 2 showed normal behavior after becoming an adolescent. In total, 3 showed weird behavior, 2 showed normal behavior. Do yall think having 1 more case of ignorance of machines and not going to ettin mother when homesick than normal actions can classify it as normal behavior for males, because I don't but I would like an expert opinion.

Thinking about it, the mutation or whatever it is can be very beneficial. Why? Because normally an ettin would go to the desert terrarium, which I think has heavy metals in it. But with the altered instincts, the ettin would not go, thus sparing him from HM poisoning. I wonder if that could be a gimmick for a breed...
