Hi everybody I'm kinda new to CC. Recently I got the idea of starting a little Ettin family as a side thing to my selective breeding project in C3. Both of my Ettins came down with a Histamine B infection. I've been injecting them both with loads of Antihistamine yet they won't get better. Is there a reason? Or am I just an idiot for not doing something very obvious? FYI, these are Desert Ettins and one is a third generation male that came from the genetic splicer. On a side note, Desert Ettins are fertile right? If not, then forget everything else. |

Antihistamine is important but you might want to give them Vitamin C as well. I've never raised Ettins so I don't know how they process those things or illnesses but Vitamin C is a pretty good go-to chemical to help cure ilness. There could be a mutation that's causing it not to work so you might want to investigate that using the Genetics Kit, if you can.
Oh. And yes, they're fertile.

Did you remove the bacteria on them and sterilize the room? Sometimes the Random Number God is unkind and you get bacteria with low infection thresholds and high max population.
ETA: Bacteria in C3/DS are concrete agents with randomized variables, instead of an abstract part of the game engine. |

Thanks for the info! I will try those things out. The only reason I'm so worried about this illness is that I lost my little Syria this morning from what appeared to be an illness though it could've been something else(grumbles angrily about there being no post mortem feature in C3)as well as the fact that I sacrificed four females to make my male and I'd rather not add to that number. |

Tried yall's advice and it seemed that high levels of bacteria were to blame! Now my female is pregnant and I'm happy enough to do a little jig! Now how do I list a problem topic as solved? I'm still not fully accustomed to how this whole big thing works. |

Glad to hear the problem has been solved! There's no need to edit a topic to mark it as solved unless you really want to. Newer topics will soon push this one down the page. However, if you would like to make note of this, you should be able to go to the top of this page (while viewing the topic) and there should be an icon that look like a pen that can be used to edit the topic. You can use this to change the title to something like "Illness Won't Go Away? - Solved"
