With a lot of wolfling runs taking place via live streaming recently, I figured I would consider getting my system ready to possibly host my own wolfling run... Or even broadcast what's happening in my Creatures worlds! The trouble is that I'm horrible with technical stuff at times, and XSplit Broadcaster is giving me a headache.
All I want to do is test a sample recording, but these come out in .flv format. I have tried a bunch of programs on my system, yet they all claim that the file is corrupted or in a format that is not recognizable. So... How would I go about testing out whether it's recording correctly?
And perhaps anyone has other advice? I'll be using my Twitch.tv account if/when this is all figured out. Hopefully I got that part right. Ha ha! Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

I'm actually downloading it right now as we speak...have you tried Virtual Dub to convert the FLV? |

Found a wonderful program called VideoLAN that opens most media files, and can play .flv files! Hurray! So the screen is being recorded properly, but no sound yet. How I wish I could just use Bandicam! That's worked for me without fail, but doesn't appear to link in with any live streaming/broadcasting sites. Just my luck!
Hope it works for you, Draggy!

Aw yes, I use Bandicam for my recordings
If the regular Livestream Procaster program didn't eat up so much CPU I'd recommend that.
Question first, are you using the beta release XSplit or the other one? |

Think you're onto the same thing I just found, Draggy, regarding the Speex option in the free version. Apparently media players aren't able to recognize the audio recorded with this (something about codec) but audio should work when broadcasting. Just makes me nervous, since I would much rather ensure that my sound volume is OK before going live. I'll continue testing! I do notice that the bars for the microphone and sound do light up, so it looks like things are working.

Well, apparently for some an easy fix is to go to "Tools" then "General Settings". After that, check the box that says "Use WinXP sound". Don't suppose that it would be that simple? |

Tried that out with no success, but thanks for the tip! I was hoping it was as easy as that. Never happens when you're using Windows. On a Mac. In Parallels. Ha ha!
