Changing the language in Creatures 2

Does there exist a surefire way to completely change the language in Creatures 2? My version is in Dutch, which i don't mind much considering i'm Flemish-Belgian, except that nearly all object packs available for the game are in English, including the Stone of Ultimate Knowledge, which is supposed to grant the norn a complete vocabulary.

I have tried looking for a solution on GOG.com, but even their answers are not satisfactory. I don't want just the language of the GUI to be changed. I want the vocabulary and such to be changed too. I've tried de-installing and re-installing with different system language settings to no avail. Come on, man! This is driving me nuts!

If I recall correctly, the Life Kits (which contain the Stone of Ancient Knowledge) were also available in Dutch. The Gameware website is a mess now, so the Dutch versions might not be downloadable anymore. I'll try searching them when I get home, since I'm typing this on my smartphone. ;)

To answer your question: I don't believe it is possible to change the language, but that might not be true.

On the list of downloads, there is one titled LifeKitDe.exe (and other languages). Maybe this is for C2? Other than that, not sure if there is anything else... But Eprillios might come up with something else!

I found it! Also thanks to Jessica for giving the link to the download index. ;)

Well, i installed it, and now my game tells me i gotta insert the game disc... even though my game is a digital download. So much for that solution.

Well, the Dutch version was only available on CD as far as I know, so I'm not sure where you got your Creatures 2 game. :\

If you really paid for your game, you can try to find a NoCD patch which enables you to play your game without the disc. The Life Kit updates the Creatures 2 executables, so that might be the reason why your game asks for a disc now.

I don't know about changing the language totally, could be some setting in the registry that you would edit.

As for the Life Kit, do you have 7zip? You could right click on the Life Kit executable and open it up in the 7zip GUI. Might work.

You mean the installer? I've managed to open it in WinRAR, but all it contains are installation files. No sign of cobs that i can install manually.

I got it off GOG.com and it automatically installed a Dutch version of the game on my system.

Yeah, I meant the installer. Shame that there are no COBs in there, works with some installers.

Weird... I never got the Dutch version when I installed the GOG.com version on a Dutch Windows computer, but they might have changed that. GOG.com sells The Albian Years, so all official add-ons are included. You might need to contact GOG.com about the problem with not having the Dutch add-ons, though.
