| C3DS Gen. kit not detecting registry key | |

So, a while ago i reinstalled C3/DS on my new laptop via GOG.com. Afterwards, I went ahead and installed the C3DS Genetics Kit from Creature Labs. However, upon startup and upon pressing the "Load Genome" button at startup, this error message is displayed:
"Error reading registry key - defaulting to current directory."
I can still get past that, load a genome and edit it, but when I try to inject an egg into the world it won't let me, and brings up this error message:
"Error reading registry key - ensure creatures is installed on the system."
What up wit dat?
I have a feeling it has to do with the fact that I downloaded the games from GOG and not from a unique CD. Does anyone know a way to fix this?

I think you can edit the registry key somewhere. However, I'd try the Remastered Patch first, if you haven't already. |

Have you registered your Genetics Kit?

I don't think you can use it without registering it first. |

Oh. what's the remastered patch?
And I think I registered it... are your referring to entering the Gameware username and license key? if so, then yes i did that.

You can find the remastered patch here. It allows all third party content to be installed correctly, and might also fix this issue! I also recommend maybe double-checking the Gameware username and license key, just in case you made a typo. But I'm thinking the remastered patch will be the solution!
