I'm having problems with a few of my Colortrue Grendels. Some of the colors, the dark red, gold, and indigo, spit out an error when I try to inject them: Runtime error in agent 3 3 102 (Muco the Egg Layer) script 3 3 102 1000 unique id 16705090 Gene file not found or attempt to load into invalid slot ... va99 ne "crossing" {@}gene load targ 1 va99 else gen ... My game is installed into the My Documents folder so it can't be a split file problem, and it's even the GOG version of the game. The Mobula Ray - My Creatures blog |

I remember this issue, and for the life of me can't remember how to solve it. Have you successfully laid an egg from the other colors first? The Readme might have something in it... But being on my laptop, I can't check into it now. Hopefully someone else will have a better solution than my babbling! |

All of the other colors work, and the Ettins and Norns don't have any problems at all. I also just checked the readme, and it doesn't say anything about my problem. The Mobula Ray - My Creatures blog |

Well, not all egg agents come with the genome packaged with it, and from the sounds of the error message, that is the case here - it's looking for the gene file, and isn't finding it... I've never tried out these particular grendels though, so I can't say why this might be so. |

OK. On my computer, Dark Red works but Gold and Indigo are broken. What I've noticed is that the .gen files don't follow the same naming conventions. On my computer, the dark red file is already called grendel.cfe.ct.darkred. Change the names for those files from gren.cfe.ct.gold/indigo to grendel.cfe.ct.gold/indigo. They did come with the agent file, they just were named something different. After decomplinging them with Revelation, I found out that the buggy Grendels didn't have the same name as the ones that worked. I renamed them and now they work! Thanks for the help everyone.
