I'm having the same problem TheSecond was having in this thread - namely, can't create new undocked worlds in DS. New docked worlds are fine. Old undocked worlds are fine.
I've been taking it more slowly with this install (number 5?) and testing after each agent addition or cos file change. The last things I added were the magic words core, magic words agents and garden box core. (All of which worked in an existing undocked world.) I went to create a new undocked world and got a string of "invalid map location" errors, starting with ant.cos. (Didn't affect all the DS bootstrap cos files though.)
I tried TheSecond's workround of extracting a clean DS bootstrap folder and copying that back, but now the old worlds don't work (which I'd expect - missing cos files) but neither am I able to create new ones. The error is different this time, "invalid TARG", starting with "1 rgam rtar 2 2 26" but giving a lot of errors after that.
So... I'm going to do a re-install anyway, but there seems to be something about my system (XPSP3) that doesn't like the Magic Words files. But all the initial errors are always invalid locations (this has been what's gone wrong in the past, it's like there's some confusion between what's being installed where). Does anyone know the valid map co-ords for both DS and C3? |

Perhaps the files just get executed in the wrong order? The !map.cos uses an exclamation mark, so systems usually list (and thus read) it at first. Perhaps try renaming it to something like aaaaa_map.cos.
The map must be initialized before stuff safely can be placed in it.
